They still have tariffs on imported cars and also require foreign auto companies to partner with local manufacturers so the local manufacturers can steal intellectual property. Canada should do the same since China and force Chinese companies to partner with Canadian companies and manufacture locally if they want access to our market. Otherwise we will just be customers.

I don't get it electric cars have already proven their failure. Here's why… 1) electric cars save the environment they do not pollute… The pollution is simply offset to a coal-fired electric power plant it just changed places… 2) an electric car fire which happens at an alarming rate cannot be put out. The fires are fierce and dangerous causing loss of life and property… 3) you think you're saving on gas? Down the road two things will happen you will need new batteries costing the price of a new car or you'll try to sell your electric car not a single person will phone you. If you have an electric car I'm sorry get rid of it as fast as you can. If you're thinking about buying one well do your own research and you will see that the reasons here are valid.
