- Hi everyone, I am touching base with a borderline boring update to let you all know my plans. I appreciate all of you who have offered kind words, words of wisdom, and compassion during this time. The camping will continue and we will see how this all works out.

I hope some of my "step 2" things from RPMfest weren't too horrible.
I know 1 was a certain style of "Spring water" called of all things, liquid Death.
I was trying to have something funny but it may not've come off that way.
I did try for a more full fledged video which I have on my channel that I dedicated to you, your fans & anybody else from that same event & tried to put it on the FB page but I guess that didn't make it.. Again, I tried to make things humorous by showing all my "camping neighbors" & posed a jokey question to you asking you if you ever had that as a situation.
Again, trying to lift your spirits if possible.

Hi Steve, my son lost his wife on September 14th. Her name was Jess as well. It’s so very hard to continue day after day and we totally understand what you are going through. My son has a little guy that just turned 5 who is also missing his Mommy. You must take care of you , there is no time limit on grief.

Awe so sorry to hear that. I just lost my partner too. He was 50 and I’m devastated. Nothing more heart breaking than losing a wife or husband and for a child to lose their parent is so awful just heart breaking.

I’m only 43 I guess if we were both a lot older it wouldn’t be as hard but it’s still sad no matter what age.

Yes,my husband passed almost 5 years ago, I’m still not the same, he was my life , I’m fortunate , I have a wonderful son , but he lives out of town, sometimes , I feel things are very hard , unbearably difficult , everyday is heartbreaking, he left me well financially well, but nothing is the same for me or my son, we miss so very much, he was a great man, gone too soon from this world, this world doesn’t feel the same without him even after 5 years, ❤
I feel for you. I lost my wife suddenly a bit over 3 months ago. I could not imaging adding RUclips trolls on top of that. Keep in mind they are just miserable people trying to spread misery and 99% are loving your work. Focus on the good.

I started watching your videos after suffering a loss. I had just moved to a new city and started a new job and was living in a borrowed 20 ft. camper. I couldn't sleep at night because my grief wouldn't let me. I watched RUclips videos, because anything longer than most RUclips videos was more than I could concentrate on. I found comfort in the camping and positive attitude and just your good nature. I started doing road trips and camping, and found real peace in the woods and discovering new places. I can never thank you enough for that.

It is amazing how the personal journeys of interesting youtubers like Steve help people to cope. Thanks for sharing. Some people who choose to share a piece of their lives on youtube are really helping humanity.
You know how I know you're a great man Steve. You give off a Bob Ross aura, when his wife died he continued his show and he gave a quote "Gotta have a little sadness once in awhile so you know when the good times come. I'm waiting on the good times now." I don't know if that means anything to you but you touch a lot of people's hearts and put a lot of smiles on people's faces.

Some people live in a very dark place, sadly. All we can do is be ready to give them support when they have a change of heart.
If i lost my wife it would be over for me. The fact that you are able to pick up and keep moving forward shows your strength and fortitude.

I have lost 3 brothers, my sister, and my dad. But without sounding harsh., I deal with that kinda easy, I 100% hear you with your wife. If I lost mine I’d be checking out pretty quick. I watch Steve’s vids and think could I do what he does, I wish I could, just live. But without my heart I don’t think I could. Full respect to him and my heart swells knowing he’s out there living. As best as he can. He’s a stronger man than myself.
Don't ever for a second feel like you are being "depressing" by being real with us. The fact that you are upright and walking around is a miracle. Your grief is just the love you have for Jess persevering. I and many others are honored that you share some of yourself with us. Keep being true to yourself, and your real friends and fans will meet you where you are.

It's been 30 years since I lost my brother and I still scream at the sky sometimes. Grief is n ocean you learn to sail. Some days are calm, some are stormy.
We are all here for camping with Steve.. does not matter if its in a blanket fort in your living room, a camper, or a sewer drain. Make the content as your want.. and we will all be here when you do.

I lost my grandma 2 weeks ago and the day steve posted about his wife was the day i found out my grandma was being placed into hospice. Its been a very hard month for me as well. I can only imagine how steve feels
That's very tough, sorry to hear that. If you need any help there are some great counselling helplines. I was on them a lot when I experienced my losses. Had to let it out...

Hi Steve. I have to be honest and say that while I'm not a follower of your channel, my parents are close friends of your in-laws, Jess's parents, and I feel moved to leave a comment. I didn't know Jessica all that well, though we do share a name and a shoe size (which I know because she took a lot of my cast-offs when we were teens--good taste, that one!). However, I was deeply affected by her passing and attended her beautiful funeral service with my parents. What I do remember about Jess was her gentle, ready smile, and just how warm she was. I will always remember how welcoming and at ease she seemed, and that's exactly how she made others feel by extension. I also remember seeing a piece of gorgeous, brilliantly colorful art that Jessica had made hanging in her parents' home (I believe it was a lion, but this was a few years ago now, so I could be wrong). When I saw it, I was moved to tears. Before then, I'd had no idea that she was such an immensely talented artist. I hope this comment isn't unwelcome or insensitive; I know you're still grieving and I cannot imagine what you must be going through. But your comment in this video that this channel is called camping with Steve and not grieving with Steve... I think the main part to remember is "WITH Steve." Your followers clearly care deeply for you, and I hope you continue to draw comfort from that. Your positive attitude shines through here, and that's incredibly admirable. I can easily picture Jess smiling at you for it. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers, friend.
Jess changed everyone for the better once they met her. She was an amazing artist, just like she was at so many things. She'll be a light for all of us going forward.

And I know many of us would like to get to know her better. I know she didn't want to be on camera and I respect that but there is much more to a person that can be shown than just their face.

I’m a huge fan of this channel - when times are tough and I’m struggling to sleep there’s nothing I like better than watching you camp out somewhere. The life I live is too open to criticism that I simply don't have the guts to start RUclips Chanel. Negativity simply haunts me, more so if it is directed at me. Thanks to people like you who chose to persevere and take it on the chin. Your channel is not only entertaining, it is also very inspirational. Steve, I lost my wife, daughter and then my Mom all within 2 years. Two weeks after my mom passed, I was electrocuted with 460 volts. I am a HVAC guy but you became my hero. After hearing about your loss, my heart melted. Do what you do to make you happy and we are here for you. I am so sorry for your loss.
My friend was killed last month doing HVAC repair. I’m happy you made it.

Hang in there, Steve. I lost my husband in 2015, and my plan to spend our "golden years' together was dashed forever. Yet, life never turns out like you planned. Grief comes in waves. You think you're over the worst of it, and you see the cup he was drinking from when he got the news he had cancer, and your knees buckle and the tears flow again. Yet life goes on. And you're still here. One thing does not die, and that is love. I believe it's a two-way connection, so know she is sending her love in every moment you need to feel it. Camp on!

I never comment on a video. Spent a long time in the military. Loss is expected, but I still have a hard time with it. I wept when you addressed your loss. There is always going to be that 10% of the bottom of the barrel. Your strength and commitment to your community will never lead you wrong. I am just an everyday joe, but you made me buy a tent for the first time since the desert. Do what you can to make you happy, the 1.1 million of will always follow.

You can't really ignore them the same when you are the creator and they're directed at you. Some negative comments could shatter you when a situation like Steve. I've seen very good creators who are otherwise in a good position basically stop uploading videos because of toxic comments. Its can be serious business for the creator even when just 0.1%. But I agree with your sentiment anywho.

Your videos have helped me fall asleep time and time again and I've seen so many of them (sometimes multiple times) on a continuous playlist that I feel like I've known you for years. I've talked about you to my friends and told them, "he's the type of guy where if anything happened to him, you'd be absolutely devastated because of how nice he is." I feel so f****** bad, man. The fact that you'd call her "Beautiful Wife" when describing her in every single video just shows how much you care for her. I hope you understand that whoever those people were who were talking bad . . . they aren't even important, bro. You have a great GREAT deal of people who truly care about you and want to see you heal, even if this is most likely the hardest thing you've ever had to deal with. I've been on RUclips long enough to know, these people aren't fans. They will literally see what is trending and come to spray negativity, and if the RUclipsr in question is having a hard time, all to the better. I've seen people obviously using multiple accounts -- replying to a question with the wrong handle is the proof -- just stirring up "Drama" to amuse themselves. Pretty much nothing to be done about people like that.
