Love the music on your videos my friends, especially the suspenseful build up music on the second try to start the tractor 🚜. You are becoming pros at this RUclips video stuff. Take care, see you soon.
Great music selection. I use Shazam to find the song titles. Then, I add them to my music library. So, I guess you are true influencers 👍. Greetings from Alabama! It’s hot here. Take care if you are working in the heat up there.
First time checking you out, new subscriber, great video! I've got a 4243MF that's having starting issues, you've given me the confidence I needed to attempt this fix! Hopefully it's as easy as you made it look!
Very cool Joel.....ya starters are fairly simple especially when you can easily get to them lime this one. Few bolts and a couple wires and you're good to go. Just make sure it's not something silly like a bad battery or battery connection first.....and if you do tackle the starter are sure you unhook the battery first. Thanks for joining us.
It has been a while, but its great to get that of the to do list. Yes it was a ling time coming but we are happy to see that your getting it done in good weather. It will pay off itself in value. It was definitely more work than we would of thought. Thank you for sharing this with us, have fun. Woot woot🤣
Ya me too.....seems there is only one tiny piece missing, nothing large enough to cause serious issues I believe. I surely don't have the expertise or resources to split this old tractor, lol
Had a green one do that, broke the nose cone, found one of the teeth on the flywheel ring gear broke and got stuck in the one next to it. Figured the starter drive tried to roll over it and broke the starter. Did you check the ring gear ? Green ones you can replace just that, not the whole flywheel.
Wow, honestly Bill the starter teeth looked fine and the small amount of the flywheel I could see in the whole looked ok as well, So that is as far as I went. I'm sure anything other than simple repairs like this would be outside my wheelhouse and tool capabilities. lets hope for the best....thanks for sharing your knowledge on the green tractors, LOL

Remove inspection cover on bottom of bellhousing clutch cover, below starter. Broken bit maybe there. Fish around with small magnet if cast iron. No find,no worries. Tractor on.
My dad taught me something when I was just a young teenager working in the woods and it is simple. He said that you can piddle around and just make half hearted attempts to do something, get tired of it and quit or you can grab it by the horns an just do it. Pondering and wasting time thinking of other maybe's will eat time you could enjoy doing something you do like doing. It shows just on that siding that if you had cleaned one side and been consistent, it would look so much better. Sure its on it now but where is the pride level? Just curious... I am quite self critical now that I am in my seventies but I did things the same damn way your doing just to have to do it over again later and then cuss someone else for not making me do it right. You have a great little mill. I do see trees everywhere there so its no shortage of millable wood. I think many use these mills with a lot of fear of maybe it hurting us or it getting so hard to do if we move that log to a better position to mill it. Common sense will get you a lot further than just half hearted attempts... I am doing this cause you have a great potential there to make a really nice place. And if someone gives us a push to make ourselves do better, we tend to make it a habit and we just over time look back at how much more is done and done for good. If I hurt your feelings, it is not the intended. I no longer walk because after surgerys, I never just tolerated high levels of pain and walked some every day... its way too late as all my muscle mass has atrophied and I have very little range of motion... but that pain is so high that even my doctor winces in pain as he sees me try to get around... I keep hopping to go to sleep an just never wake up.. what a great goal for someone who has done just about anything that you name in logging or mechanicing on equipment of age. I have not walked since 2005 when I caught a man who fell from his roof. It broke my neck in four places an shattered my lumbar system to a point of slivers of what should be.. they wired an used screws, plastic and different forms to hold stuff together but those nerves get in the way, they burn them off an they just heal back in weeks. I have refused to use drugs and this is the payback for it. I could get just about anything I can or could ask for as they keep suggesting that this or that would help with pain that puts me in short term comas.
I do have thin skin Morgan, and sometimes it hurts to read comments here about what I'm sharing and how I'm doing it.....but in regards to my quality of work I will only say this. I have no one to teach me, I learn best by action. There is the option of sitting around until can do things at an expert level....or I can go, live, accomplish, and learn. To add to this.....there is this stigma that people live with, that everything has to be perfect.....or done a specific way....all while everyone does things differently and all think they have done it the best or correct way. The Over complicating of most things is what keeps most idle until it is too late to DO what they always dreamed of. It is hard for me reading this to narrow down exactly where or what it is you wish or think I'm doing so poorly.....since your comment is here on a simple video of me fixing my tractor and you mention no specifics to what you think I'm doing unwell. Feel free to offer constructive criticism but help me by being blunt. If you are referring to my size or health.....then that is something I have struggled with since a young boy. This journey is something I hope will continue to help me with as we transition more and more to this lifestyle. I wish you the best my friend amd hope you find your peace, for I can not imagine being in such a situation.
If you are simply referring to the siding, you have just missed the reason for its current state. It has been brought up in a few videos of why it is not finished.
@@OffgridwithJayandJen Well said. It brought to my attention that my father, a very large and powerful man from old country germany was mean and very cruel to me, demanded perfection so my first impulse is to think like I was taught at a young age.
