Well if you knew about the old Shrewsbury Town stadium then you would know the club could never expand. Severe flooding all the time. Impossible to build a new stadium in the town as there is no space its been a settlement over 1000 years. Half the buildings are listed.
@@salopfantv If you’re going to build something new then at least have character to it. Look at Rotherham’s ground, new ground but it’s a 15 minute walk from the centre and has character to it. Also just around the corner from Millmoor.
@@DFCRiver You haven't got a clue mate how or why the ground was built. How long it took or the implications. Medieval town with no space. There was a covenant on the old Gay Meadow which took years to resolve. Rotherham council built their ground. Shrewsbury raised the funds through selling the land and had limited help from the council. Rotherham's ain't that great, it's ok but preferred Millmoor. In a town like Shrewsbury land is limited because of the Severn and listed buildings, narrow old roads which can't be altered or demolished. Land isn't easy to obtain in a town run by should I say people who would rather spend 40 million on a theatre and not have a football club. If I had my way it would've been different trust me!
You’re a legend for this 🩵💙
@@MrAnderson730 There's a vlog on my channel too about the game 👍🏼
