I grew up on A-C tractors. Starting with a WD45 and then a D17. Great tractors until they ran into money problems and the bean counters took over and drove a great company into the ground and then sold out to more bean counters from overseas. Great line up. Thanks for the memories.

Beautiful pair of AC's. With the big spread you have and all the work needed to run a farm, I'm glad you have time for this, and it bring you so much joy. Congrats and many years of health and running you tractors and farm.

I have the exact copy of this unit. Large tire, dual range trans, etc. A very handy tractor for my 80 acre hobby farm in Oregon!

My Gpa had that exact tractor. When he passed my Uncle sold it and I so wish I would have been old enough to buy it. I learned how to shift with a clutch on the D12III.

Looks a bit like the ED 40 that was sold here in the UK in the late 60s. Nice collection of tractors 👍

We had a D17D 175D 5050D and a disappointing 6080 that had to work hard with that 4 cylinder combine engine to make the rated 84 HP. Happy for them that their D19 is diesel. I've been told that the D19G could easily use 55 gallon of gas a day.

The engine in the 6080 was a very powerful, high torque diesel, that was great on fuel. It was the legendary 301 cu in engine with 2 cylinders cut off

What? No D17? They were the most popular here where I live in Pa

You're right. Where's the 17?. It was probably their most popular model. Still quite a few out there despite the fact that the 17D had a nasty little habit of blowing head gaskets.

That D17 did everything on the farm every day except pick corn and the D19 did that the 17 was on the auger

The smaller D-Series with Power Shift wheels were popular in NC and VA tobacco country. Oxford Implement in Oxford, NC sold a lot of them.

This isn't a 'complete' collection. Far from it. They do not have a D10 or D17, let alone the various series of each model. Still, some very nice machines.

Many flaws with the Allis Chalmers company such as union strikes in the 40s and poor company management. Couldn't keep up with the times. Now the tractor name is on the trash heap of history. My grandfather owned an Allis Chalmers dealership at Lennon, Michigan in the 30s and 40s. Chalmers would ship 4 combines to a flat car. These combines sold big time. He had the largest dealership with Chalmers. Eaglegards...
