Hi Tim,a beautiful gas or propane fireplace would be nice and it’s clean. I do love your new house design and colours you picked and your beautiful location in the bush!! ❤️❤️👍👍🇨🇦
Do a stackable washer and dryer a sink next to it put in a small cabinet with a fold down piece for folding. Kind of like the island Fox has with CRC where her side has a fold down counter top. You can still have a place for hanging. Doesn't need to be large... Find a program online that can show you what it will look like whilr e you are designing it... That should help
with induction you need to make sure your pots and pans are able to use induction, not all pots and pans work on that. laundry tub? You design your house the way you will be most comfortable. If you want the sun setting in kitchen or living room your choice. have you thought of putting in the walk in tub shower units?
It will be a beautiful home! The only suggestions i have are to maybe consider a big slider door out to the back so you don’t have a door to deal with, and put in a large flat island, not a bi level countertop. You can serve off the island and still put stools around. Those are my thoughts but I’m sure what you decide will be perfect!
You can change things once its done. Utility sink, Tim. You can add a door and do a mud room later. Maybe box in the back patio in the future. That patio aint going to be big enough anyway once you build the stairs for the door. Sorry
We have cabinets in the laundry room with dry packaging and we have never had a problem with moisture. We have 3 adults and lots of laundry. Lots of outlets. I built a home with lots of outlets and still did not have enough. I didn't want to use extension cords. We don't have a bathtub. We did but with two people not being to get around good the bathtub was dangerous. Love the showers with grab bars but you don't have a balance problem. The main thing i say is lots of outlets. Even where you don't think you will need one. One day you will wish you had one in that spot.
Great video Tim. Good to hear all your answers on suggestions put forward. I do agree with you a door to the guest toilet off the great room It’s really important, primarily for guests rather than have them traipse through the second bedroom to get to the toilet. We call it a combustion heater in Australia, it throws out a lot of heat and is also beautiful for ambience specially against the wall of the great room in the middle….picture this: The night is cold, and the wind is blowing gently through the trees, as though they are whispering to each other. Inside, the room is only lit by the warm glow of the log fire, and there, on the beautiful silk Persian rug, she lies, safe but vigilant, eyes ever watchful, in her beautiful fur coat, she waits for her Master to return. 😂. Really looking forward to this build. It’s going to be absolutely fabulous. Take care cheers🙏 (a great backup plan for a romantic night, split systems can’t create that!) 😂
Tim, I like the way you think! I also ‘live’ in a floorplan with my minds eye! I really love your floorplan and your vision for the high ceiling, beams and color combos. I was one, who also suggested the back kitchen to entertain at the rear of your home. It would open up the living space and allow more light into your living area and the guest bedroom at the front, would be more private away from your Master bedroom and living area. But you need to make your home layout for you and how you like to live as we all have different lifestyles. We are about a year behind you on ‘our Ridge’ build but in our current home, we have a gas stove and an electric wall oven/microwave combo. We have a 250 gallon propane tank for the stove, gas’s logs and BBQ grill. However, with all of your solar you could use an induction cooktop and then put an electric oven/microwave combo opposite the refrigerator in the corner of the kitchen. (If you consider a drawer microwave, do some research as I haven’t heard great things). We later added a propane Generac in home generator and will install one on our new property as a backup to the solar. So if this is something you’re considering down the road, adding the propane tank now for a gas stove and BBQ grill may be a good option. The laundry/pantry combination with a utility sink between the washer and dryer is one of the best mods we have made. We’ve had no moisture issues, even with our high humidity in NC and the dryer is vented. I vote for a pocket door to your laundry/pantry room - there if you need it, disappears when you don’t! And the guest bathroom door off the main living area is a keeper, it’s much more convenient. 🥰
I like the idea of a big sink in the laundry room. I really liked the plans you drew up. The wood stove needs to be in the center of the room. It is your house, I am just saying. I like a big pantry.
Remember where you put your washer in dryer? You had to have a drainage on the. In case the wash machine leak, you won't have it all over your house. You're gonna go drain right down the rake down the pipe. No about your kitchen appliances. Do you want one belt andhibit all electric and cellular? Or do you want a different source? And catch the power failure. And you gotta get all the protein cans. That's just 1 of 2 things. Get a bigger picture, not harder.❤
Our washer and dryer are in the pantry room along with a toilet and small sink. It’s by the back door of the house connecting to the kitchen. We have never had a moisture issue with the food items. My wife washes clothes almost every day. Either in the morning or evening. We have lived here for 29 years. Hope this information helps.
Tubs usually are for kids so in the guest bedroom side. Id only have a shower in the master bedroom. Id only put 1 door on guest bathroom. Dont attach to bedrooms.
Have you thought about a rotation for can goods. That way you will always have your canes from new to the oldest. You can go on RUclips to see how to make them.
Good afternoon Tim, well California finally got the rain but why is it there's always the fire first and then the rain instead of the rain and then the fire that happens to be I think every year cuz the water could soak the Earth and all the trees and vegetation but that's not how it works. The only thing I thought of on that French doors in the front is on East Side you had the windows and I've seen Windows facing the Sun they were golden or yellow kind of bumpy and they look so pretty when the sun hit him.🤩🤩
I wouldn't put the woodstole by the door could you be putting the wooden air for a heat and be go right out the door because it's right there, I mean that's settling, but if you put it in where you're gonna be spending most of your time like in the? Living room on the sidewalk in the living room between the living room and dying room where you get most of the time, you're gonna be spreading there. Just thought❤
If your dryer is vented outside you won't get any moisture. Slop sink. Are you still going to paint the trim around the shed door. Noticed it in the video and looks like something is missing being white.
Make your pantry room door a flip-flop door, so it will open either way. They are called a double swing door or a saloon door. That would be my vote
I was just typing that out when I saw your reply lol
Nice!
Barn doors would work too
My mom has those. I like more privacy than they give.
My laundry is in my pantry. No problem 3 years. Where is your hot water heater. We enjoy your videos.
Why could you not put an exhaust fan light over washer like in bathrooms. Not conventional I know.
Good deal. Nine will be outside on wall.

I thought about it. Thx!

The last video of your plans was very exciting to see , hope you can get your holes ready for the concert this week .😊💕🙏
I hope so too!t
Thx!
Induction needs special pans not sure if you can cook with cast iron may want to check
Good call.

Thanks for the tips! Maybe in the future.
I think the sink for the laundry room is called a utility sink. Someone mentioned saloon doors for the laundry room. That would be nice.
Nice thx

I do like the idea of centered fireplace with gas logs door off to the side and maybe steps down to the patio
Thank you!

Your plans sound real good. Can’t wait. Good luck with the footers. ✌️🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
Pantry door make it a rolling door like a barn door or a pocket door. Saves space.
Good idea.

Yes! I wanted plenty of outlet when we built the log home.
Great stuff! Thx
With your appliances go to a place where you can get all of them together for the kitchen and laundry areas might be able to get a better deal
Oh yeah!

HAHA! Love it!
All good ideas. Some better then others, guess you'll have to figure out what works for you, Tim! LOL Have an awesome week! Hi to Grandma Carol!
Hi!
Thanks, you too!

Good Afternoon ❤❤... I'm glad you had good answers to your questions, as well as some great suggestions 😃👍💕
Oh yeah! Great people here!
Also, pocket doors give you more room.
Very true

Not sure I follow. Sorry.
Don’t raise the bar countertop. Keep it level.
Will look into it.
Enjoyed Watching Have a Blessed a week Tim
Thanks, you too!
Are you going to put down a moisture berated moisture barrier on the ground underneath your top floor?
Yes will do after Subfloor and plumbing rough in.
Our washer and dryer are in the pantry room along with a toilet and small sink. It’s by the back door of the house connecting to the kitchen. We have never had a moisture issue with the food items. Good morning Tim sorry I’m late watching.
All good!
Utility sink in the laundry area?😊❤
I think so!
Why don’t you have a fireplace with gas logs , with a mantel, your future Mrs ridge wife would love that to decorate for all seasons
Slop sink
Thx!

Yes vent outside. Yes I will paint shed after get gravel around it so will be clean.
Your going to need to build up the back patio for the back door
Huh? Step down is how we designed it.
First
Boom!
Why don’t you have a fireplace with gas logs , with a mantel, your future Mrs ridge wife would love that to decorate for all seasons
Not in the budget right now.
