In this Talkin About a Revolution guitar tutorial, I am going to be going over an easy 4 chord classic by Tracy Chapman. This song uses only 4 open chords - G, C, E and Em. But in this lesson, I'm going to show you some variations on these chords that you can use to give the song a brighter tone. I will be going over three different strumming patterns you can use from beginner to late beginner to help you play along with this amazing tune.

Hi Lauren. I hope you had a good Christmas. My mother is in a nursing home now, and they have frequent activities. I volunteered to play guitar there on Christmas afternoon for the residents. Unlikely that I'm on board with the song's message but another great video. Don't think I've strummed a pattern like this yet so this is pretty exciting to learn.

Changing normal C Chord to G and vice versa is hard.
You made my day. I‘am starting getting play guitar this year in September with your tutorials. Glad to say it helped me a lot stayed focused on the things you teaches.
And it‘s true, every chord you can play slowly but correct you can play fast when still training it.

Love this song! Glad "Fast Car" got a revival, but in this age and time, "Talkin' About A Revolution" is what life is all about if you're not part of the 1% (99% of us, including me, ain't).
Only pick is I prefer the natural chords to the "easy" ones. There's a difference I can so easily pick out that takes the soul out of the song when using the "easy" chords.
Thank you, though, once I have time to pick my axe back up, I'll definitely want to try this out, because I've enjoyed singing this song for a great many years now, I just lack the chops currently to play well.

Great song! My favorite chords! Yes, songs with lots of chords or barre chords are great… but for me to keep it simple doesn’t make any less interesting or a bad song. Sometimes,less is more. For me anyway!
