Honestly this still holds up today. A lot of work was put into the atmosphere and cinematography of this video, and it still stands out to me to this day. By far one of the most profession brickfilms I've ever come across
This animation is now 10 years old, yet it still stands as one of, if not the best LEGO Star Wars animation on RUclips. Its attention to detail, set design, story, and all types of effects makes it timeless. Gareth Pugh, you really have built a mini masterpiece that stands as solidly constructed as ever and only gets better with time.
This is where it started for me on youtube (I made my channel in 2008). Now it pops back up in my recommended after all these years. Thanks for this masterpiece Gareth!
this is definitely your best animation yet - the framerate (apart from a couple of scenes) is excellent, and you've really mastered those special fx! in the next episode i would love to see some large scale infantry battles!
I was searching for this specific video. AWESOME thanks for making it. I watched this on my dad’s iphone 4 when the youtube app looked like an old TV. Good times, good times...
This is epic...When you can't remember why you have always loved the republic cruiser (7665). I would love to see more of these, but dang for being made it 2008 it has withstood the test of time so well.
you are the only lego star wars stop motion person that realy make there videos believeable and you voice mods make the voice acting great. your effects are marvelous. and filming sets are very well put togather. you are the god of stopmotion starwars
He made them.He filed of the fins on their helmats to make a commando helmet.I did that to a couple of my Clone Wars clones and they came out really nice
the best squad 42! you shure have come a long way whilst making squad 42! if you look at the first one and compare it to this one, this one seems to have got better!
Wow I think this is your best yet! The animation was so cool! And, in a good way, it was kind of differant. This really is amaing! 5 stars and on my faveourte list!!!
I've used the nail file on fingernail clippers and a dremmel tool. The Dremmel Toll is probably the best and easiest one to use because It'll give the helmets a nice smooth finish and doesn't take too long. You'll have to be patient with the nail file
i love the video it was rockin and being a movie director and having attempted a stop animation with legos i know how difficult it is to create one as good as this, so great job, just the only thing that bothered me was the voices for the the squad 42 troops and the guy calling in for help were a little high pitched and there are ways of making the voices sound like they are over a headset w/out being high pitched, but the droid voices were awesome and explosions, and lasers rocked out too
This one is my favorite of yours, I think. Awesome effects, and very good camera angles. On top of that, your actual filming is very smooth. And I loved: "This way. *BLAST* Uh... -This- way." Great job! The only thing I noticed was you said "EMP pulse generator," but the P in EMP stands for 'pulse'. Not to nit-pick or anything. =P
You used fxhome for the special effect and got that electric hum from their website. Nice job but my to ask of you, can show how to build a set like that?
almost 10 years old...i cant tell you how inspirational this was for me. im so happy you continued this
I remember this from when I was five. I had just gotten my first star wars set and this seemed like magic.
