Guiné Bissau is not an isolated country. Yes, we do have elements of European/Western influence in our national language (Crioulo), which in terms of lexicon is about 80% Portuguese, and in our culture. We do have 100% african culture side by side with traditions inherited from the Europeans during many centuries of colonial rule. I am proud of both!

Our culture is a blend of African native language and Portuguese for the language and the other stuff. Bissau is my favorite country, next to my Country l, Sierra Leone. Very simple country, love the landscape. And love the small family homes all over Bissau, and really cool people. No one really speaks Portuguese, more Local languages and Criolo, I speak some Spanish, so I can understand a lot off it, surprisingly. And like all Guinea Coast countries, we have much open, almost untouch areas, that are gorgeous.
Did you know that Crioulo is about 85% Portuguese? It is broken Portuguese, and it is ineligible with Portuguese...And if you know crioulo and pay attention you can understand spanish too...I am a native speaker, so take it from me bro...

I experienced a shooting one time, think there still was some civil war back then... Great upbringing that shaped me in a positive way. I now live in sweden
