I think someone to become Modric's successer is Kobbie Mainoo, great offensively, defensively, is a good ball carrier and is farely young
His overall isn't great and he's a slow grower, used him in my career and I wouldn't but it's an option. Jorrel Hato is a good idea too

Look for regens. Maybe you can find the one of Luka Modric. Either try signing one of experienced CDM's like Rodri, Casemiro, Kimmich, Thomas Partey, Hojbjerg, Amrabat, Scott McTominay, Kalvin Phillips or a youngsters like Alan Varela or Dario Essugo

you could sign Connor Bradley as he is quite young and has been performing well for Liverpool whilst Trent has been out injured or Sergio Gomez. both young full backs with premier league experience

Amadou Onana from Everton would be a fantastic holding midfield option. 78 rated with an 82 potential. Phillips is another option. 79 rated, 79 potential. Jorginho as well, 83 rated but I think can be boosted to 85 if made a CM. Kobbie Mainoo, 68 rated, 86 potential. Paulhinha from Fulham, 85 rated. Bissouma from Spurs. 80 rated, 82 potential.
Change the training plan of ribero he had 74 dribbling which could explain why he feels horrible on the ball but if you change the training plan he’ll feel much better

I think you should look at the free agent’s for some squad depth

I think you should look to get a different striker like Charles de katelaere to replace benzema when he retires because I never will see dave Rooney as a starting striker in the prem and I don't see him having the potential to live up to those standards

for a defensive minded player you should sign Rodri, its been 5 years which that means he's now 33 and his contract might be expiring somewhere, and you might be able to afford him especially since player values normally start to go down at that age.
PCQ: You should give Ribero the no. 7 and give Mateo Silva the no.15 and sign an incredible midfielder which is ethier Daniel Gore or Jobe Belligham but if you want a CDM i think you should sign Ruben Neves hire a scout to Germany or Portugal. I also think you should switch to a 433 formation

If you are looking for a defensive midfielder, you should sign Mateo Kovacic. Because -
1. He is a veteran, PL experienced player
2. He is same age of Bernardo Silva, and his former teammate
3. He was S2G FC legend in FIFA 23 career mode. So why not in FC24 ?
Plus, I would suggest you to raise some funds by player sales, and also sign a free agent good centre back.

If at the end there isnt enough budegt for it,i think you might still be able to try and get him on a loan-to-buy and buy him later on. Kobbie Mainoo would also be a good shout i think. You should maybe sign modric's regen as i think it would fit the best for the club
I think the tough cookies need another good cb. Don’t get me wrong Bernard is great but Arnold and maguire leave a lot to be desired. I suggest signing David hancko. He can put in a great shift at lb Plus he is INSANE from corners. He might not look too high rated but he plays like an 89+ player.

I would also recommend paulo dybala if you could save up your money. He is a 86 ovr cf / cam and is great value and experience for money.
I think someone defensive who can help your team a lot is kobbie mainoo, he is good offensively, defensively, and has the leadership and potential to become a future club legend
PCQ: your defence are your weak points, you need a higher rated keeper and attacking fullbacks that can help with the wing and you should get kobbie maino for your midfield, he's only 19 but will be your best cdm/cm after Bernardo silva. for the defence your going to want to get scouting for the youth academy.
