I clicked on this video SO fast! I absolutely love dischidia and I want to collect as many as possible. You have a great collection. I don’t know why they are so fun to collect what they are! I recommend the tonsuensis. It’s absolutely adorable and a good grower. I also have a one stripe. It took almost a year to grow from the two leaf cutting I bought, but it has three strands now, and keeping it outside in the heat and warmth is encouraging more growth. Ok I’ll stop, could talk about this genus for days!
Hi, Theresa!!! I love your enthusiasm for Dischidia!!!! You sound like me 😊. They are just so darn cute and addictive lol. I think I’ve seen every RUclips video made about them 😊. I will definitely check out your recommendation…like as SOON as I’m done here. It sounds awesome!!!! Thank you so much!!!
I added a Dischidia Ruscifolia Variegated after seeing yours. I have mostly Hoya but I think I need more Dischidia now! I always enjoy your videos! Thank you💚
Hi, Lynne! Dischidia are just a natural extension to collecting Hoya. They are just so much alike. I really enjoy the small leaf Hoya so these Dischidia really hit the mark for me with their sweet small leaves. Thank you so much for watching and being here. Happy Sunday 💚💚💚.
Hi Diane! Roots will grow from the stem so I just cut pieces with at least two leaves and a node. The new growth will pop out from that node where the original leaves meets the stem. Kind of hard to explain but a very simple process. You can put that newly cut piece in moss for fast rooting. I put them directly into soil. They must be in a warm, bright, humid place though to have the greatest rooting success. Hope that helps!
Just looking at a glance at your dischidias you could say they all look like hoyas. When I bought my first lot of Hoyas from a local lady on Facebook she threw in a Dischidia pectinoides and it’s been the slowest grower of them all. I keep checking to see if there is anything new developing but as the leaves are so, so tiny and there are all these little vines between the leaves it’s really hard to tell. It’s meant to be a very interesting plant but I’m really not that excited about it. I need to do more research on it, maybe I’m doing something wrong. Thanks for sharing your Dischidias, I must look out for the ruscifolia. I need one in my home.
Yes they are very similar. But you’re right that they are slower growing than Hoya. The ruscifolia is a real cutie and an excellent addition to a houseplant collection!
Hi ❤ I’m in love, you’re collection is so precious! which seller did you recommend for buy dischidias, I know you said Etsy but I want to know if there one that is your favorite seller to buy them! Thanks ❤
Thank you!!! I really don’t have any recommendations for dischidia. I have bought from many different sellers. I typically go with a Star Seller when I do shop on there. They always seem to give the best service in my experience. I hope you find some real cuties 🥰.
I love succulent leaf like plants as well. I just ordered the lanceolate a couple weeks back from Etsy. They were not fully rooted so I noticed that some of the leaves were beginning to fall off to the touch. I just took them out from the soil today and put them in water so that the roots grow more. I did not want to lose it. Also I have to say that you have an awesome collection of dischidia. Love your chunky soil, could you share the exact mix you use!!!
Hi, Madeline! They seem to be pretty hardy plants so yours should do fine! Lanceolata is one of my faves! Thank you so much 😊. My Dischidia collection is definitely one of my pride and joys. I just love them 🥰. I actually did a soil mix video awhile back this year. I’ll see if I can link it here for you! Thanks for watching and commenting 💚💚💚.
@@ThePinkTrellis Thanks I actually found the video a bit after! I’m always afraid of making big batches because I dint want it to get mold. Has that ever happened? I love fox farm soil I use that as well but when I had attempted it was with black gold. Maybe that soil is more moist.
I really like how dischidia lanceolata and dischidia albida looks. I just had to order one to try it out. Do you give your Dischidias extra humidity? Thx
Hi, Mandy! There’s another one that looks just like them too. It’s called Bengalensis (not sure that’s spelled correctly). They are very cool looking. I do have a humidifier going in my office with these but the Ovata and Ruscifolia do not get extra humidity and do just fine. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to give them some extra humidity but if not I’d just keep an eye on them and see how they do. It’s probably an individual thing…some need it and some don’t. In my experience I’d say they are fine without any extra humidity 😊.
@@ThePinkTrellis bengalensis is the one I got since I couldn’t find the other 2. Thank you for the info. I do feel Dischidia oiantha and Geri don’t need extra humidity. However, they grow much faster in the green house.
@@mandychen9846 Oh cool! I'm excited for you getting the bengalensis. If it ever flowers for you, I'd love to know how it looks. I'll be sure to post up any flowers I get...here on youtube.

I will keep an eye on it, great tips! Big hugs back and I just love you and your videos and your plants :) you make my day
Hi Tina 💚. The Albida is the other one. There’s also another one that I don’t have that looks like these two. So confusing 😂. If I ever get mine to flower I will definitely let you know. Maybe one day we’ll truly figure out if they are the same or different. Definitely try moss if your Dragon Jade doesn’t stop giving you yellow leaves. It worked like a charm for me. So happy to chat with you here, my friend. Big hugs!!!

It's a favorite for sure. I love it's pretty hair :).
Very happy to see all of these and they're doing so well ! Love the pots.
I would love to see an update and see where the plants are now and what you've added to the collection.
Thanks Lynn!! I will add that to my list of videos to make 😊.
It's nice to be able to come here again to see your latest action, hopefully with this you will be more excited with better works, 🌽🌽
