Can you guys watch 2019 Midway. It’s an amazing WW2 movie about one of the biggest naval battles in history. Americans vs Japanese. I 100% recommend you watch this movie it’s amazing.
Just realized the parallel between Mr. Miyagi and Johnny. Miyagi's letter in episode 4 says that he was lost before he met Daniel. Johnny was lost before he met Miguel.
I appreciate that you guys understand the parts of the show we're not supposed to overthink -- like the cop situation -- and just accept that this is the crazy 80s-film-craziness-flavored world they inhabit. Also appreciate the KK3 love! Aaron called the KK3 relevance this episode right away. That "must not lose to fear" scene is one of the best scenes in all the films. Fun speculation on the possible Daniel-Johnny team-up. Mary Mouser (Sam) did an outstanding job this season portraying someone with ptsd and the feelings of frustration and helplessness that come with it. Sam and Daniel's relationship is really beautiful. Daniel is a great dad.
The PTSD scenes were executed wonderfully and I empathized with Sam on that. But what angers me is that she has gotten away with a lot of stuff. She sneaked around, two timed two guys (one of which was her bf), she instigated stuff, she made things worse for everyone. Daniel and Amanda are good parents but they let their daughter get away with a lot and they don’t even reprimand her. They are so exaggeratedly gentle with her, they coddle her and everyone around her is at fault according to them, except for Sam herself.
@@Nirrini people's memories of their own experiences are biased, that's why you get disagreements where both sides think they are in the right but objectively they're both at fault. That's just real life.
@DancingClown I wouldn't call your woke authoritarian crap 'greatness', as that seems to be the only thing that Europe is following from you in this day and age.
A lot of the point of learning and training to fight is so that you don’t have to. (That’s actually how it works most of the time.) Daniel and Mr Miyagi talk about it during the fishing/balance on the bow scene in The Karate Kid.
Johnny cured Miggy’s asthma, his fears, and cured his legs from being paralyzed lol. I need Johnny as a doctor also Yas character development was good here. From a spoiled brat to someone who understood other kids who got bullied
The brown skin guy with long hair is one Johnny managed to sway from Cobra Kai. The one guy Kreese didn't kick out that defected to Eagle Fang. He is there since season 1, but I don't think he was named.
I also noticed that, is good to know that are people that are loyal to Johnny, besides Miguel, cause most of the kids there wouldn't have joined Eagle Fang if they haven't being kicked from Cobra Kai
Some TV shows follow the same blueprint, even a show as special and specific as Cobra Kai. Plus these guys watch TV shows and movies for a living so they can spot storylines from a mile away.
This is going to get no likes again because its about Hawk, but I am happy to see them at least rooting for them. Feels like everybody just writes him off which is a shame
Maybe it's just the people you talk to because I see alot of people giving love to hawk all the time and he deserves it he's a fun addition to the show that fits in the karate kid world
@@mamaslillele If there's anyone who deserves having his arm broken, it's Demetri. Watching him writhe in pain was almost worth tolerating his constant whining and Game of Thrones references in season 2.
15:20 yes, BUT that’s why Julie Pierce would be a smart introduction; she fought in the street against Michael Ironsides’ recruits (as ‘street’ as the PG rating allowed)
Yes, so many parallels from the old movies and the new "Cobra Kai" series. Look at all the parallels of Miguel with Daniel's youth: being bullied by a group of bullies; having a sensei who became a father figure; becoming a karate champion; turning to the dark side temporarily and turning back again. Same with Johnny and Kreese: both were bullied, but learned the wrong way from their respective senseis. That is why I think Kreese will ultimately have a redemption arc: to mirror Johnny's redemption.
@@josephsloop8865 Maybe. But just imagine the dramatic ending if he did like a Darth Vader or Dr. Octopus redemption, by saving someone's life by giving up his own. Maybe he will realize how bad he lived his life and the ultimate redemption is to give his own life for someone else.
These Cobra Kai reactions are the reason I look forward to Thursdays (even though I'm watching this one on a Friday lol), I'm not sure what I'm going to do when you guys hit the season 3 finale haha
Fun fact about the cobra kai series and the karate kid films. All of them mainly the first is about balance. And the last episode will prove, that all of it is to bring balance.
Regarding Aaron's comment at 16:00. Daniel was not the first to win two in a row. According to one of the books, Jonny won the previous two (1982 and 1983). The All-Valley had been going on for about 15 years prior to the events of the first movie. (In the season 2 finale it was indicated that that one marked the 50th anniversary of the tournament, so it started in 1969.) But if it was mentioned somewhere that Daniel was the first to win two in a row then that is a continuity error. Extra trivia: Vidal won in 1981 but Kreese claimed Cobra Kai won that year. The actor was also stunt-double for Miyagi and created the crane kick behind the scenes.
At that point Kyler had already been a wrestler as well as having a bit of Cobra Kai training Demetri is getting to be a better fighter with Miyagi-Do but itd be like Kyler vs Ass-Face
He would, but he couldn’t because of the school restriction. He couldn’t even punch Hawk at the school because of the teacher. I really wanted Demetri to kick Kyler’s ass.
@@abbaskazmi2558 and ass face also had more experience in karate and he lost to Kyler so I definitely think Demetri wouldn’t win because he’s soft and he hasn’t even shown to have both complete offense or defense even tho he bet hawk it wasn’t because he was good at karate
Now that they got the Netflix credit card, I really want the actors pushed to do better while keeping the writing as campy as it is... tall order but the heart wants
Johnny: you're all sharks! Because sharks are winners! Because they don't look back because they don't have necks! I am proud to be the shepherd of this flock of sharks!
It's not too unrealistic until you consider how fast it happens. He gets paralyzed on the first day of school in August and is healed by December. If the recovery took place over an entire year it'd be more plausible
Is it more unrealistic than the cops not being present 90% of the time when some of these kids and adults are comitting crimes? Is it more unrealistic than Robby matching Miguel in the All Valley Tournament despite having far less training than him?

johnny cured miguel's asthma AND his paralysis what a man
Just realized the parallel between Mr. Miyagi and Johnny. Miyagi's letter in episode 4 says that he was lost before he met Daniel. Johnny was lost before he met Miguel.
They were also both handy men before they met their students
They also both defended their student from being jumped by a bunch of bullies.
You are correct
Miyagi is Johnny’s dad confirmed?

Underrated moment in the whole show.
Iron Eagle Karate would have been such a better name.
But Johnny calling it Eagle Fang is the most on character decision ever 🤣
A lot of the point of learning and training to fight is so that you don’t have to. (That’s actually how it works most of the time.)
