I had a lifter fail on my fresh rebuild a few years back. Same issue, circulated needle bearings through out the motor. Bottom line… after the second rebuild with all the same parts you replaced… I now have about 40k miles on the build. Runs absolutely great.
Thanks for your information and it's good for us that you share. My question is were the oil holes on the lifters installed on the front lifters facing aft and the rear lifters facing forward? These appear to be a high-end brand where they do recommend placement of the oil holes when installing the lifters. Yet it really shouldn't matter. I have had numerous high-performance cams cause extreme lobe wear due to bad hardening also lifters have failed with the rollers having a bad hardening process. Ticking noise got expensive but could have been worse.
Back around 2006 I bought Feuling Lifters, cam plate and oil pump. The pump was good. All four lifters felt questionable during cam case assembly so I didn't use 'em. Cam plate was out of flat by .004". ASSUME NOTHING, especially grandiose advertising. Feuling ain't made a nickel off me since.
3:383:43 I lost the engine on my 2015 Limited CVO with a wet head 110 because of the same kind of lifter failure. I went with a Baker oil pan that holds 1.5 quart more oil
Great video, there was some audio issues at the start but still great video, cheers, good information, wonder how much a new oil pan and oil cooler is?
Wow, I just done a cam and lifters roughly 500 miles on the bike now used night prowler lifters been monitoring my oil and oil filter. No signs of metal but been noticing some brass metallic I’m thinking maybe from the S&S cam plate bushings breaking in.
Fueling doesn't make their own lifters. Just an FYI. Same company that makes Fueling lifters is the same company that makes most "performance" lifters in the US.
Great video. That's why I came to you for my stage 2.
Glad I could help!
I think they over ajusted the pushrod adjustment that caused that one lobe to were out

More great information. Keep them coming.
Thanks for caring JD.
That SS pump magnet saved his bottom and and sleeves and pretty much the entire engine !!!
Omg
Thanks Dave.
Outstanding video, Dave. Thanks for taking great care of the bike! This is Alain.

Wrong guess my friend.
What kind of oil was he using?
Poor bastard!!
piston oilers?
so does the entire motor get taken apart?-- split the cases? -- thanks
in this instance we didn't, we drained the sump, flushed out the pistons and ran everything clear.
what kind of noise would bad lifters make? swirling? grinding?
its a tapping noise, like a harsh tapping noise.
Use fueling race lifters!
Did I hear correctly that the lifter that Failed was Fueling lifter??

By the color of the rest of them parts, it looks like an S&S kit
Yup I heard fueling race lifter too
The bad lifter had Knight Prowler written on it.
@@Jim_Berry good catch
What is the lifespan of lifters?
a good lifter should be the life of the engine, just like your car
How come not warranty?? From Harley..
Because they are aftermarket parts that were installed. He says the brand in the video.
The bad lifter has Knight Prowler written on it. Not Feuling.
I would think broke valve spring and the lifter is bouncing on the cam.
