- Google's rebranding is a step towards tackling the world's complex problems with simple, accessible design.
Jonathan Lee is the head of design and founding member of Google UXA, a team responsible for the new interface design of Google applications. Among other things, this team was responsible for the recent re-design of the Google logo and the design of Material Design, the new Android visual language. The fundamental task of Google UXA is the development of a unified design framework in direct collaboration with the Google product design teams, transforming products into a more consistent, beautiful, mature and accessible platform for all its users.
Daaamn! I can't imagine a world where the redesign was a lowercase g instead of the current one. It's so weird to see the old concepts, but fun too!
Need more such videos. Really help the noob designers to think big and needle moving
As far as I noticed, it all started when Google brand logo start to "debrand" way back from 2013 then another in 2015 and all the other brand's logos, app logos followed up until today.
Very interesting and good video! :)
So that's the reason behind the change some years ago. Simplification.
