    Hey I'm from Memphis was born here in 1956 and still living in Memphis. I saw Dewey play. We called him The Swamp Rat.

      Hey, I'm from Memphis too, or worked there out of college for 7 years.. got my start there and know Jerry Lawler personally, the self appointed King of Memphis.. Thanks for dropping in
      I keep Dewey Warren on email, I think he's 73 now bout that, he answers eventually, lives in East Tennessee near Newport (cocke coounty) where many an outlaw is from,

      @@TheMemphisSlim I was at the stadium here in 1965 I believe that was the year it opened and saw Tennessee beat UCLA I think it was 36-35. If I'm not mistaken Dewey was Q.B. that day. Either him or Charlie Fulton.

      @@chrisoxford4026 You have it correct, Charlie Fulton was hurt several weeks before the game and Dewey got the start.. It was 1965, and we beat Tommy Prothro's UCLA by one point in a shoot out. Dewey scored the winning TD on a short but clumsy rum that got him into the end zone... Go Vols!

      @@TheMemphisSlim yes Slim but I was wrong about the final score. It was 37-34. UCLA was driving for a game tying field goal when we intercepted a pass. That's when all the Hell broke out. Prothro was actually from Memphis. He said later that his team was treated so badly here that he was ashamed to be from the South. As far as I'm concerned Good Riddance

      Dewey Warren and I stay in touch via emails and Linkedin, he's retired of course now living in Newport, Tennessee just outside of Knoxville.. I was born 1955 we're about the same age.. he was my hero growing up. Go Vols!
