I won't lie, I have a reel like that. I stumbled across it at a local drug store for $2.50, so I got it for "quick and easy" vanishes. I've used it _once._ I mean...it was a nice routine. I said "I'm gonna teach you a trick, and then tell you the problem I have with it." I used a thumb tip to vanish a silk, and then said "the problem is that everybody in the world knows this trick is done with a thumb tip...so don't use one" and used the reel to vanish the thumb tip. But...then I never used the reel again. ...and then here comes Lloyd, in black jeans and a black T-shirt with a brown belt...gotta love that genius 😂...and shows me how to not only vanish a ring with it, but let's go ahead and stick it in an _impossible_ location, too. This is why we all love and respect you and your whole deal, brother. It doesn't matter how much I know or learn about magic, you teach me something new on a regular basis. You know damned well you could've sold this trick, but you gave it to us for free. Keep doing what you're doing, man. You deserve all the success you have, and I'm sure there's more to come. 🖤💙7️⃣🃏✌️
Improvement suggestion: to completely avoid reel-to-can contact, would it be better to place the can at the opposite side of the pull direction? The reel is pretty much centered, so the distance from it to the can is effectively the same. So, connect in the left hand, false transfer to the right hand, reel to the left side, link behind the right hip, etc.
This is top shelf stuff for sure. I think that I can actually do this one with some practice. Good idea about putting the ring pull inside the can and squashing it.
Be careful that you don't choose a high karat gold ring, as the aluminum will easily acratch the surface as you slip it on. Steel/titanium rings are more common these days, making your choice easier.
I’d be worried about the ring falling off on its way to the reel. Like it would bump into the hip or whatever it took to separate from magnet. I’d probably use a magnetic ring as well as the really strong type of magnets which I’m sure you are using except for the ring. That’s a really good trick to do Well done
Like Peter Sellers in "Being there", I just like to watch. I've never tried to perform any tricks, apart ftom self-working card tricks that don't need sleights. I try to practise basic slsights ( like double lifts) but must have the clumsy gene, because for 9 months during lockdown I had dsily practice sessions. All I ever accomplished was dropping cards all over the floor. I've adored magic since I was a child, and now I'm 70, but still can't manage to pull off basics, so I just enjoy magic as a slightly more informed consumer, and I love your videos. Your ideas are just what I love about magic, and I enjoy trying to guess how you're doing it, before you explain.(I've never managed to guess it though. Love your methods and visual presentation, so please keep up the good work. Understanding magic made me able to see through the covid con, so such knowledge is valuable, even if, like me, you never end up performing.
Really grasping at straws here. Yes, magic should look real and make some type of sense. What doesn’t make sense is why you’re carrying an empty coke can in your back pocket. Sorry but this is stupid and useless in terms of presenting magic to a layperson.
