Brilliant! Characters like these are often not the highlight of a film, but add so much to it. They often do not end up getting the limelight, but I feel they deserve a lot more attention and appreciation and so do the actors.
The character of Daya Kaur was also so well scripted, well knit and well captured! The rural Indian woman, the affectionate mother, the supportive wife, the lady stuck with the dilemma of norms - altogether came up so beautifully...🥰
And, the casting was so organic.. Truly, the universe had made it plans... Sakshi fitted in so amazingly.. 🎉

Loved, loved, loved Sakshi Tanwar (whom I’d never previously heard of, as I’m American) in Dangal. Understated, so real, so convincing, an age-appropriate pairing with Aamir so they looked great together. Frankly, I wish she’d gotten more screen time, and I hope she gets more. Fabulous actor.

how men portray n respect women is a prime example in this video, subconsciously Amir says sakhsi ji as shehas a aura, she has portrayed a women who has been homely so boys, men, uncle, hero associate the lady as a wife, as a daughte. as a mother or respectful figure and respect. see amir he never calls karishma, karena, rani, kajol, madhuri, katrina, juhi or twinkle as madam or JI. u see these actresss n u don't associate, u want to work but keep distance bringing them home.
Dangal is still my favourite and the most watched movie (till today). I save this movie in my laptop and whenever, I need a motivation , I watch it again and again. I have watched so much so that I memorised each scene of the movie. Now, I’m taking a break but I know that I would watch it again.

This is the real problem with many big producers/actors/directors (who from time to time think, have thought that TV is not good enough to produce good actors) specially in India that they have no idea that there are really good actors from TV, they think TV is for smaller people, they dont get that it was from TV that SRK, IRFAN KHAN like actors have taken audience by storm. If SRK, Irfan khan have came in these times, as TV actors, nobody would have seen them then
