This novel was before ‘A Canticle for Liebowitz’, ‘On the Beach’ and ‘Alas, Babylon’. Definitely an influential novel. John Wyndham’s ‘The Chrysalids’ came out about the same time. Like the short review!

Thank you! I will keep an eye out for The Chrysalids. It looks interesting.
I love Canticle and Alas, Babylon is on my list of books to look out for.

I don't gravitate towards post-apocalyptic fiction, but Mennonites and the theme of good men committing evil acts theme sounds fascinating! Great short review!

      Thanks!
I read too much post apocalyptic fiction 😅.
It is a good short read if you ever stumble on a copy.

Finished the book, loved it. Review to come. I love post apocalyptic, some day we should have a discussion about the sub-genre. Cheers Joseph, keep up the good work.

I want to watch this but I'm going to wait until I read it, probably in May.

Haven't read this yet, but it seems very different from the science fantasy stuff I am used to from her. I read a bunch of the Eric John Stark stories last year, and he's basically "Space Conan". Definitely into checking out this and some of her "hard-boiled" stuff.

I had high expectations going in and I was still blown away.
