At this point it’s just a wishlist. As a Raiders fan I’m used to seeing the Raiders being linked to almost every player and coach in the news cycle. I’d love to see Ben Johnson get the job but we were linked to Harbaugh too.

For a couple of months, I have had Vrabel to the Patriots. Marcus Freeman to the Bears. I had Johnson staying with the lions waiting 1 more season. Didn't see Raiders making any moves. Today, it looks like Johnson to the Raiders.

The Raiders are the least attractive organization for the hottest coordinator in the league for the 2025 season. Jags and Bears have "franchise QB's" The Saints and Pats have stable front offices. The Raiders have neither. With a former head coach like Kingbury still getting sniffs for a position in 2025, Ben can run it back with the Lions, fail miserably and still get opportunities in 2026. Odds are the Raiders annual vacancy will still be there.
Ben is not ready for a head coaching position, especially with a terrible organization like the bears, jets, raiders, etc.

Raiders have a history of hiring bright, young offensive coaches and the bears will never pay 15 million plus to an unproven coach, its supposedly what Ben Johnson asked for last year from the Panthers. I am hoping for Joe Brady to the Bears but I have a feeling Bears will be getting Brian Flores.

This is outside the box but what about a new formula for the way NFL franchises are built saying the case of Tampa Bay you could keep Todd Boyles as the defensive head coach and you could keep their OC as the offensive head coach and then you would have an administrative head coach who, during the game with stand right next to the coach who’s unit is on the field to make timeout decisions Challenging, plays decisions, things of that nature to leave the offensive head coach to run the offense and the defensive head coach to run the defense and if you were lucky, you might actually get a special teams coach who could handle the administrative duties or not just a thought. Let’s break the mold instead of firing these guys year after year let’s do something to build a franchise and it doesn’t have to be the old formula.

I think Vrabel has a much higher floor. Johnson has the potential to be a very good coach, but it comes with a lot more risk. I wouldn’t be upset with either honestly, but Vrabel would be my pick.
