Saw one of these at Trimpley steam fair last week. Absolutely gorgeous bike.

They are lovely and this one was even better. It’s the four pipes that made it for me.

Great looking bike. I bought one new in 1973 when I was still in high school. I rode it halfway across America and back (twice), and up and down the East coast. I loved it. Traded up to the 400 CMT in 1980.

@@MotorcycleFettlers I do have one. Olive green, one owner with full service, books with 4,789KM's on the odometer and in showroom condition. I purchased it from a deceased estate yard sale here in Australia in 2021 during Covid for AU$1,000.00 (US$678.47). Cheers! Nice video.

@@MotorcycleFettlers I have had offers in excess of 10K here in Australia. These were very expensive for their day and very unpopular. AU$950.00 in 1973 is now AU$10,641.98 adjusted for inflation. That is to say these cost the 2024 equivalent of AU$10,641.98 so for what they were, they were very pricey.

That's the exact same model and color of the first motorcycle I ever drove. That's why I feel like I'm missing something if any vehicle I drive has less than 4 cylinders.

I do like a four cylinder/carb. When they get to this age and you get to that inevitable time to take them off again, for yet another clean, there's plenty of fun to be had.

It's worth it just for the engine. You won't regret it if you can only find an engine to restore and have a custom bike built for it. The sound and performance can't be understood without experiencing it in real life. I'm ruined for lessor machines since driving one as a teenager. Until this day I look for a chance to use this engine again.

I wen't back and watched the video again and see where you're coming from. The filming audio did not do it justice. It sounded lovely.
