Study in A-minor is an unassuming piece written by the Spanish classical virtuoso Dionisio Aguado. He was a contemporary of Fernando Sor and even lived with him for a time in Paris.
Within this study I believe there are 3 primary techniques to focus on:
1. Full-planting of P, i, m (Thumb, index, middle)
2. Apoyando with the thumb (rest-stroke)
3. Experimenting with tonal variations: sul tasto, naturale, ponticello
I suggest trying just one technique at a time and then integrating all of them at the same time!
If you don't want to leave your email in the comments send me a private message with your email and I'll send the tabs out to you.

I'm thinking of starting 'live streaming lessons' once per week. Let me know if you'd be interested by writing a comment below!
HELL YEAH BABE
Juliet Thornton HELL YEAH!
Im interested. I watched your entire video which is not normal behavior for me. I just click vids and watch parts of a vid.But your video here had my attention and your talk at the end of it makes so much sense. Your a good teacher. And I think this "finger planting" idea is exactly what Ive been missing. My study will sound alot better than when I was just free stroking and noodling the study the entire way. Wow. PAY ATTENTION STIZEN!!!!! thanks for reminding me to focus and push myself to improve
lifesaver, i was struggling to find videos on this you came in last second thanks✌️
All good Maxi!
U r a wonderful teacher! It's a pleasure to learn with u Maestro!
Hi Eva! Thank you so very much for your lovely comment. Reading comments like this always cheers me up and encourages me to make more tutorials :D
Grande violonista Grande professor
You hit the 20k mark!!! Congrats! Hope it grows faster and faster.
Indeed I did Malie! Didn't think that would ever happen when I started out haha I hope so too!
Thank you, Joshua Rogers! Playing this is really fun for me! Now I just got to develop the speed.
You're welcome Wufaka. That's what it's all about - fun!
Thanks very interesting!
cheers Joshua

"This is the way."
very helpful👍👍👍
Thanks Naufal!
thank you :)
+chroustek You're welcome
Welcome back sir. Like destroyed! My issue with live streams is it seems that I can never make it at the actual time. I'd love to see all your stuff organized into some kind of learning plan to follow.
Thanks for the destruction John! 'Live streaming' is going to be tricky no doubt but I'm going to do my best to make it work somehow if there's enough interest.
I will see what options are out there for organising my content. At the moment I organise my playlists according to composer, tutorials that belong to a series i.e 4 tutorials for one piece, and technical instruction. As time passes and I upload more content I may uncover a way to group it in other more helpful or effective ways.
As far as youtube organization goes you're doing good but I have bigger plans for you! I'm thinking along the lines of a "The Josh Method for Learning Classical Guitar". In other words an overall plan for learning where you map out a lesson plan based on your videos. Something like, start with technique lesson X then learn song Y which uses techniques a, b, c. Then work on technique lesson Y... etc. Love all your videos just wanting an overall plan or road map for somebody like me who is basically a newbie at classical. Put it on your site as the Josh method and charge a fee, I'll pay it ;-)
guess were i learned this mate ,your on the money ,revision time ! Keepin it real Josh Rogers ,good on ya!
Where? Haha I'll keep it real mate! Keep your revision real too!
Same place as cavatina bro!lets just say palyin with my eyes closed lol
Hehe that's great bro. Keep on rolling!
I tried to like the video, but the like button was destroyed. Actually this is working on stuff I have been feeling a little frustrated with. So good choice of study for me just now.
Haha that's cool. Getting those likes is another boost for the channel. I thought it was time to post something that is a technical study that doesn't sound like an exercise. Guiliani, Carcassi, and of course Aguado all wrote very nice etudes that have nice melodies. I'll be posting quite a few more of these within the next couple of months :D
as far as the live streamin goes ,count me in ,but will i still be able to see the lessonsd on you tube afterwards??
Excellent Gareth and thanks for writing a comment. I'm not exactly sure how it's all going to work out because I still need to do more research regarding cost, delivery method, interactivity and of course as you mentioned - making it available to view afterwards. At the moment I'm just putting the feelers out to people like you to see if it's feasible.
Please make a tutorial on tears in heaven by Eric Clapton
There's probably plenty of better tutorials on this song than I could make. I play (and sing this song) but I kinda play it my own way.
at 10:12 what song or piece is playing? its interesting
I think that's the theme from 'The Walking Dead'
Thanks a lot for the lessons ! Too bad you were not around before, i learned a lot of the songs you teach the hard way, from a video of someone playing it, plus very shitty tabs =D
Hi Driss. You're welcome. I know what you're saying about shitty tabs around too grrrrrr
I am Groot.
Haha the accent is a giveaway I guess
