Groups of geese are a gaggle. Crows a murder Turkeys a rafter. It's always fun watching Jay working while Jen is laughing Especially when she's calling you pet names like dork.😊 No need to defend how your cabin looks. I like how it looks lived in , cozy, It fits what you want Built by you how you want. Nothing wrong with getting good deals when you can. I like the idea of having a $100 object i only paid $20 for.
Awesome! Oh I have to tell you Jay, Jason loved the piano music so much he was dancing around the cabin. I finally got him dancing on camera. 🤣 He would kill me if I actually used it though. Lol. Thanks for helping with a great laugh this morning. Always have fun watching you guys!
Jay you remind me so much of my late husband. He also sourced cheap products from house renovations, etc. he took pride in using it in the most artistic way possible and it always looked wonderful.
Great job!! Your cabin is a rustic cabin look and it looks fantastic! No worries about what others think cause you both have worked hard and again it’s your piece of paradise I love it. Thanks for sharing ❤
Hi Guys, so I am watching from the beginning, glad to see Jay hasn’t slid down anymore ladders. (Scary stuff). I am surprised that after Jay got the fireplace working he didn’t buy a cot and sleeping bag and just stay in the cabin instead of walking back to the trailer. I think Jay did an excellent job building the cabin. Jen we never saw your reaction to the green metal panels.
Happy Birthday! You guys are fun. Don’t change. Reminds me of when I bought a small cabin 20 years ago and it was me and an old girlfriend (still friends and talk weekly) doing some of the exact things you two are doing. Great memories!
WOW folks the trim looks great around the windows nice finished look , And hey I like budget friendly projects I feel that is the smart way to go , I didn't notice the difference with the wood trim all looked good to me 🙂 You two and the pups are a joy to watch . I agree with Jen the old wood / stained wood it all has character to the cabin., and I love it. Yup Jen my dog is like yours lol. Great work on the syrup . another epic video my USA friends
It doesn't matter what other people think about your wood work. If you are happy with it, that's what counts and that's all that matters. I always thought that wild turkeys were very secretive and wouldn't come around in the day time close to people or their homes. Guess that I was wrong. Thanks for the update on your cabin!
Hello jay and Jen you did amazing work on the trim and moulding I like it all matters is if you guys like it is fine timber and scout are crazy puppies but I love them ❤️here from Ontario Canada ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦😎
Trim looks great! Bummer about the different thicknesses! But, you made it work. That is a lot of turkeys! I say gaggle but I don’t know if that’s right either! We hope you have a great week! 🌲
Thanks guys.....I did end up finding one more thicker piece so it worked out....but it seriously threw me off. Lol. Thanks for being here, appreciate the support. Your tree house is coming along nicely... Hard workers you all are. 😊👍
I think your cabin is amazing guys, it’s set in a beautiful location with stunning views, and the trim is just as expensive here too Jay, you have a knack for finding some great stuff and bargains too, great job on the windows, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
From Google: Adult male turkeys are called toms, and females are called hens. Very young wild turkeys are called poults, juvenile males are jakes, and juvenile females are jennies. A group of turkeys is called a rafter or a flock.
Great job Jay! The different variations in the colors give the wood more character. It's actually nice that they aren't all the same. When does turkey season start? Are you ready!? Also, have you given any more thought as to how you'll insulate the porch, so the snow doesn't get in? Looking forward to the next one. 🌟
You appear to be correct on both terms, wild turkeys are a flock and domestic are called a gaggle. Birdzilla didn't say why. It is amazing what one can learn to do if they choose to. I was a jack of all trades, but back in the day, you had to use trial and lots of errors, or go to the library and find things that pop up on Google in an instant now. I suppose I can still do a lot for a disabled 78 year old. Good video editing is my biggest challenge the past year though because I mess up, get mad and quit instead of sticking with it.
Your window trim looks very, very nice! Of course I have a comment. I like to make the window sills stick out another few inches so I can have plenty of room to set things on. Really comes in handy for indoor seed starting. That might be a nice addition for your self sustainable lifestyle. I enjoy watching your channel. Thanks for letting us get a glimpse of your everyday homestead life.
Hi guys, I don't know, but surely if Geese are a "Gaggle", then Turkeys must be a "Gobble"??? lol. Greetings from sunny Perth, West Australia. Only 34° here today... but that's °C of course, or 93.2°F for you guys. Cheers, Frank.
Turkeys in a group is called a flock......or rafter ....saying a rafter of turkeys. There is a population of wild turkeys in north west and central Texas

Just wanted to let you guys know that the trim you referred to as crown molding is actually camel back molding. It’s designed to go on top of square base molding.
Really......nice....thanks for that Barry. I was unsure of its application obviously, lol. I'm thinking of trying to use it where the walls meet the ceiling, as I'm unsure of that angle and think it might look decent there.....and I have a decent amount of it. What do you think?
@@OffgridwithJayandJen , that won’t work for the ceiling. There’s no way to get it flush where it meets the ceiling and wall. If you have some cove molding then that will work or you could just go with a 1x2 up there. Crown molding is the best way but since you probably don’t have any crown go with a cove or straight edge molding.
Hi Guys, Hey Jen I just wanted to tell you that Jay doesn’t blend well with piano music. It gave my visions of Jay in a tutu, doing Pirouettes across the yard!! It wasn’t a pretty sight..

Very nice Jay and Jen ❤

You could shim upper and lower pieces with 1/4 inch furring strips. Only the really tall and super short would ever notice.
Looks Great!!
Thanks Steph

Woot woot
I prefer painting or staining my trim before installing. Touch ups are easy.
That came out real nice! Save that trim I would imagine once this is done you will be building something else or adding on.
you did a great job Jay.. looks nice a great finished look!
Thank y0u Sandra

Turkey season starts in two weeks I think. I have not figured out the porch problem yet, lol.....soon I hope
Rafter, and I honestly had to look that up😂
😊👍 love the honesty
Good job guys

Hey Guys, NJ has four native species of Trillium flowers.
Awesome
Looks good guys
Rafter is what I’ve always heard
Wild turkeys are called a flock. Domestic turkeys are known as a gaggle.

I'm going to work on bottling it into smaller pints as soon as I can

Gaggle of turkeys
Haha you corrected me immediately
You two, lol
Rafter or flock
A group of turkeys, I think that would be parliament, in Canada.
And it is a gaggle of geese
A rafter or flock
Group of turkeys....... A Rafter or a flock
Can you just cut a thin piece of wood to put behind the thicker piece?
Not a bad idea
A total of 30 or more is a flock
How much I want to try it, what do I need to do to get some love from Virginia again!!!
If you emailed us, we can add you to the list my friend
@@OffgridwithJayandJenI don't mind how much just wanted to know if it would make it here in Virginia. I would take a guard 🫙 🍯 🏺

HI, why don't you cover your gallery, it would protect it from rain and snow as well as yourself.
I'm not sure what you are referring to with gallery sorry
Hi Guys, Hey Jen I just wanted to tell you that Jay doesn’t blend well with piano music. It gave my visions of Jay in a tutu, doing Pirouettes across the yard!! It wasn’t a pretty sight..
Lol.....Maria......I love piano. I'm ok with you imagining me in a tutu...ha ha
Flock of turkeys and freezer meat
The plural is turkeys
Lol
