Uch is a historic city in the southern part of Pakistan's Punjab Province. Uch was possibly founded as Alexandria on the Indus, a city that Alexander the Great founded during his invasion of the Indus Valley. Uch was an early stronghold of the Delhi Sultanate during the Muslim conquest of the subcontinent. Also known as the home of the Naqvi / Bukhari after the migration from Bukhara.
Bibi Jawindi's tomb is one of five monuments in Uch Sharif, Punjab, Pakistan that are on UNESCO's tentative list of World Heritage Sites. The shrine dates back to the 15th century and was built in the spirit of the historical Sufi Premier Bibi Jawindi of the Suhrawardiyyah order, a strictly hegemonic Sunni school of theosophical thought which, in the context of its interpretation of Sharia, places a special emphasis on the Shafi'i school of the classical jurisprudence. Jaw Indo was a great-granddaughter of Jahaniyan Jahangasht, a famous Sufi saint.
