BABY-LEAGUE GRASSROOT FOOTBALL FESTIVAL HELD AT KOHIMA

To nurture young talents, the Department of Youth Resources and Sports conducted a Grassroot Football Festival (Baby League) today on June 17 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima. Director YRS Kethosituo Sekhose gracing the closing Ceremony stated that, the festival was initiated to groom professional footballers and also nurture young talents at the very young age. He also said that the festival was organised to give children an exposure to be competitive in sports and games, and also to install confidence and discipline of football in pitch. In grassroots football festival a huge turnout of participants were witnessed. Different categories under 12 years both boys & girls, (4 years, 5-6 years, 7-9 years & 10-12 years) age group were divided among the participating teams.
