      Make sure it's plugged into a 5V header and double click the W button on the remote, I think, it's been a bit, to enable RGB sync.

    I really love these connectors. It reduces the clutter.
    Plus it allows for it for sequential RGB effects which I like vs each fan just repeating the same effect as with a regular 3 Pin ARGB

    • @WiltshireTutorials
      @WiltshireTutorials  3 года назад

      Fair enough! It does reduce the clutter by a significant amount, I'll give you that. I just hate having an extra fan not being used. Would be nice if they made an adapter of some sort. So the leftover fan doesn't just sit there and I could use it in a different build.

      @@seijurohikore I am powering 9 fans on 1 hub/no problems. Yes I am happy with them and am buying a 3rd set for my wife's build, despite a few bugs... which are:
      ** on it's own controller, not all modes work with all color configuration. Some fans randomly have sections that go dark, like 1/4 of the light circle is off. Of note, there are so many modes, the few that are bugged didn't hinder my end result.
      ** Not all onboard RGB software like ICUE or Aura recognize or control the fans. I had to match my other RGB evice effects by hand, i.e. color pulse.

    A good video but I do have some remarks...
    1. the fact that the fans have to be connected in a specific order is actually a VERY GOOD thing! This means that there is continuity between the fans meaning an effect can start from the first fan and go through the others in the chain. Te fact they did not label them is a stupid one I agree.
    2. Fan orientation is something that should not have to be explained. Every RGB fan is essentially an RGB strip that has a beginning and and an end plus a direction the LEDs go in. So rotating the fan changes the positions of everything.
    What I'm interested in is if those fans are really having continuity or the controller is doing some mambo jambo... If those guys from Asiahorse can provide the pinout of the fan connector, that would be great!

    I can see why it took a lot of effort to make this video. Nice job. The motion graphics were a good addition. The fan hub connects to the mobo, right? After that, can you control them individually?

    • @WiltshireTutorials
      @WiltshireTutorials  4 года назад +3

      Wasn't too much effort, to be honest. Editing was pretty straight forward. I was just having issues with trying to figure out how I wanted to film the video! Wasn't happy with the footage I shot. I'm glad you liked the video! The fan hub gets plugged into a PWM fan header on your motherboard. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust the fan speed for a specific fan. The hub adjusts the speed for all the fans. I should've included that information in the video. Next time!

      Wiltshire Tutorials I should’ve gotten that when you mentioned the problem with the opt header. Seems like no way to use a hub to control individual fans without taking a usb header. With 8 fans in my rig, I used all of the Corsair hub, and had to use the cases’ hub😂

      Yes. As mentioned in the video, you can control the RGB colours via the fan hub that is included with the fans.

    If i want to control the rgb by a software do i have to connect each fan to a rgb header on my motherboard?

    • @WiltshireTutorials
      @WiltshireTutorials  3 года назад +1

      It's just one connection to the motherboard. I showed that in the video. All the fans connect to the fan hub and one RGB cable comes out of the hub and into the motherboard. Hope that clears things up for you!

      If I'm not mistaken, you have to double click the power button on the remote to enable Addressable RGB mode. Also be sure to connect the fan hub to an ARGB header on the motherboard.

      Hasn't happened to my batch of fans. They've been in use since this video as a daily driver too. Could've been a bad batch from the manufacturer. I'm not certain

    Stellar review, very detailed as usual. I'm personally not a big fan (pun intended) of these remote control fan hubs, which is why I usually go Corsair with the integrated software controls. Much more convenient, despite the cable clutter. Although this hub has the reset switch connector I believe, which lets you use your reset button to switch between color modes, though you still need the remote for fan control, so that kinda defeats the purpose...
    Anyhow, I'm done with my Mini-ITX build too, posted the synopsis on Reddit, I'd appreciate your feedback, if you'd like to take a look.

      I do like the ease of use with Corsair's fans. However, they're so damn expensive! This fan hub allows you to double click the power button to go into ARGB, if you plug it into a 5V header that is. You can also leave the hub on PWM mode, which is what I did.
      Man! That came out pretty sweet. Like the fact that you made things your own by doing a bit of custom work! Seems like it is pretty quiet too! 87 degrees is a little toasty for the GPU, but it seems stable at that temp. Can't say I'd change a thing about your build. Well done!

    • @DarKNesS7026
      @DarKNesS7026 4 года назад

      @@WiltshireTutorials Oh, that's neat. And PWM mode does solve the issue, didn't think about that. It definitely is more affordable, but if I buy stuff like this (and I did buy darkflash kit for my other project, which is very similar to this), I won't put it into my main rig, just for aesthetic reasons.
      Thanks for the feedback! It was probably the most challenging build I've done and it was super fun. Yeah, I'm bummed over the GPU temps too, but even with the stock cooler, temps aren't significantly better. It's not a great card and the TDP is way too high for my tiny custom AIO, I should've just bought a 1660 ti or super, but oh well... Would love to see you build a Mini-ITX system too in the future.

      @@WiltshireTutorials True. However, the "I got product, but I'm not paid for this content" is still incorrect at best, and misleading at worst. Legally, ethically, it's STILL sponsored content. Your smart viewers WILL STILL KNOW it's sponsored content. All saying "I didn't get paid for this" does is continue the belief that "all paid for content is scripted and dishonest," which is untrue. The good companies will even accept negative paid for reviews (so long as not entirely lambasting) because they know that there will still be more interest.
      Also, other than that, I really enjoyed the content.
