  • Agopengps has a forum where you can learn all about the basics of setting this up on your tractor, here’s a link to it
    discourse.agop...
    Downloading the program is free as it’s open source, firstly you need to great an account on
    github.com/
    Then download from farmer Brian Tees page the latest version
    github.com/far...
    Only works on windows machines, sorry no iPads or macs etc
    I will try and put together a guide on my website to help other farmers out to build a working system 😀😀

    You Sir, are a brilliant man for retrofitting that old tractor with open source components to give your equipment a whole new life.

    I came across you from your base station on rtk2go, which I use as I'm local. I've basically done something similar but for surveying and drone flying for archaeology. I've thought about an RTK driven cart to carry a magnetometer, rather than walking up and down with a handheld device. Well done for getting it all working.

    Well done Joe - you certainly have shown that it's not that hard to save a fortune on manufacturers GPS equipment.
    If any of your viewers want to use GPS without auto steer there are a few Phone Apps that give a helping hand. I used Field Navigator and Field Bee this year - helped me keep in a straight line 😹

    Brilliant, thanks Joe. I’m not much into farming but am thinking about making an RTK auto steer boat. Great to see the younger generation farmer making the most of the tech, and putting a valve in so the older gen can still get along with it 👍

    Good for you doing this. But..... reliability, all your cables need to be supported and preferably put in conduit (or similar)to take the strain off the plugs and sockets, I am an electronics engineer and have done a few auto projects.
    Nearly all the faults I have had are to do with making the whole thing robust.
    Crack on though, it great to see you diving in and getting involved.

    Very interesting, will you be tidying it up and refining it so that Andy or Em could use it, and mebbe even yr dad... (if he finally accepts how useful it is).
    Has anyone on the forum tried to integrate it with A.I, cameras & Lidar to create a fully autonomous tractor?

      Yeah Brian tee has made an old John Deere do his rolling autonomously behind him drilling… lots more complex gettin to that stage… but totally do able with will power! 😀😀

    Awesome video thanks for all the information you inspired me to try to build my own set up and to be honest I am a technophobe. I know you already have your computer all put together and programmed but it would be great if someone could post a video on putting it all together programming it And getting it working. Also, I have a lot of questions about how the GPS receives ntrip data. do I have to have an Internet connection at all times in the field? Or does it use GPS antenna to receive the correction data? If I need Internet connection, that will be a problem as I live in the backwoods of Central Missouri in the USA and we don’t have Internet in the creek bottoms, usually.

    • @joeseels
      @joeseels  7 месяцев назад

      Mine gets it through mobile phone data, 3G etc… you can get it via a radio transmitter though, need one on the base station and one on the tractor 😀

    YESS just the video I was hoping for . I’m going to try this on a 2010 -160case puma . How different do you think it will be to your Johndeere? I know I have a guidance button in the armrest but obviously it’s not wired to do anything .

    • @joeseels
      @joeseels  Год назад +1

      For ease of installation I would just add a new guidance button at first… then when you get addicted, rip the armrest open and find out how to wire to the guidance button… should be very much the same. Just work out where to put your wheel angle sensor. 😀😀

      I did this on a 2008 195CVX recently, worked out great! It was auto-steer ready, so I just put the AOG system into the hydraulic valve block and it worked a treat. Check my videos for more on that
