I’ve actually made it sound better and it’s THE EXACT SAME KEYBOARD. So what I did was I took some kind of plastic foam-packaging thingy and made holes for each of the rubber domes and placed it between the rubber sheet and the place where the key caps stay. I’ve also lubed and loosened the screws. It sounds amazing y’all should definitely try it out
Ahh I see what that mod is it achieves the same result as this except, you have some foam to improve the sound, definitely easier than this mod too. I did something similar by mounting the case on top of blutack on another dome board, you could also mount it on o rings on the standoffs.
I imagine seeing this keyboard at an older cousin's house. The cousin in particular had many fond memories playing various games, but now the keyboard its rarely used (mainly because the cousin guy moved out). Now, the keyboard rests on a wooden desk, next to a logitech mouse with a notebook instead of a mouse mat(Dad promised to get him one for christmas).

I came up with a new and easier method that sounds way better, all you need is blutack and toothpicks/cotton bud sticks, I will upload a video tutorial for you, check my channel in a few minutes. also watch the short I uploaded a couple days ago, for what you can expect in terms of sound.
It’s not the worst rubber dome one, still quite tactile I’d recommend lubing it though, along with the wire stabilisers, and theres a new bottom out mod I came up with using foil. This one just has the stems on the keycaps shortened down to create the sound.
@@marcopolo3485 Blutack but its white to stick them down and then y'know those cotton earbuds? it's the wooden stick snapped up into little pieces, you can use the plastic or hard paper ones too. Also toothpicks, or even like aluminium foil tightly rolled up into the same shape. this is what aluminium foil looks like with lots of blutack inside the keycap for a deep sounding thock: ruclips.net/video/M4GfS9suxuA/видео.html
on this one the stems are just shortened so they still actuate the domes, but the keycaps bottom out on the square holes before they can squish into the membrane, the other mod in the link is an easier method and that uses blutack and toothpicks
@@chubeviewer you're right vintage membranes are so sick. i have this model m2 rubber dome and unfortunately it does a lot of double pressing and stuff like that so I find it unusable as a daily driver but I just love the tactility and the sound super great
@@ComputerTechnic217 That is a very nice rubber dome board, too bad it doesn't work properly. I have a mechanical keyboard which double presses, pretty unusable, only good for gaming.
@@chubeviewer Maybe you could take the switches apart and adjust the click-leaf or something like that! (if you care about the switches that much) Of which switches is the keyboard?
@@ComputerTechnic217 They're romer G switches in a logitech board, and they break really easily when you take them apart, it's probably something to do with the fact they have a two contact points in the switch and because it has 1000hz polling. When you say the weird membrane feel do you mean the mushiness? because that's all gone, or do you mean the tactility which you can actually feel in comparison to mx browns? for a dell keyboard like that it does sound very nice, even though it sounds like plastic which is normal for a membrane keyboard

When a membrane keyboard sounds better than your $90 mechanical keyboard:
for a dell spacebar that isnt rattly is really impressive

I remember in school there was a Dell keyboard that sounded so good to type on despite being membrane.
This is so good for a membrane keyboard

swapping my fully modded rk61 for a dell keyboard rn
i have a ziyou lang k61 keyboard i but some lube around the walls of the key cap and it sounded like a mechanical keyboard
I have a few mods on my channel for membranes, make them sound and feel really good
Used to use this thing, pretty sure it was like 5+ years old.
that backspace tho
i found that if you can make the key hit a some metal, it can make it clacky,
i once tried lubing one of my unwanted keyboards with vaseline and it was a complete disaster
it worked for me, it sounds like NK Cream now,
wow its like red switches thocc
I dont understand how you did this when i checked the description i didnt understand either
