I've always felt the Judda were wasted, but by the same token I love how Dredd deals with threats. If Mortin Judd had been less arrogant, he could have been a far deadlier threat. He'd have been a perfect foil for Mega City One's Justice Department. Guy clearly had his supporters and sympathisers and a stable army. I hope if they get rebooted, we get an epic.
I's good to be back watching your videos - I'm under a sugar low after been a month with no power or proper internet connectivity without your lore videos (Hybrid's and Acid's too), after Hurricane Maria mowed us down here. Honestly I have like 3000 plus videos that need watch (Including Oxnord's Fallout Lore video) ... Ton and Tons to watch, can't pick them all - GHAAGH IT'S TOO MUCH!!
This could be what Dredd's Sequel's Plot should be (just re-design those helmets) if they ever make one, and the third movie would be about the Dark Judges. We can only hope.
no, they are making a tv series instead dude. no sequel will ever happen to that movie sadly. here you go, I interviewed the owners and producers of the comic and future tv series - ruclips.net/video/RhfLiJ2eAa8/видео.html
Well, thanks for the correction. I just hope that we see these guys, the Dark Judges and more in the Series. I wonder if there'll be a Johnny Alpha Cameo as well.
I literally just this week read my Mega Collection volumes of Oz, and then Necropolis. Little annoyed that Necropolis's foreword said that oz set up certain aspects, but then there was clearly a load of story behind Judge Kraken and Dredds long walk before necropolis that I had no idea about.
Cheers mr h. Haven't heard of most of these guys but love watching your videos.Really hope that the tv series does well. Marvel paved the way by doing their own stuff and hopefully mega city one can be quality. Other smaller companies might get financial backing to make tv/films out of their creations.
Another good video. I saw bladerunner the other night after watching your review and I really enjoyed it. The soundtrack through out the movie was fantastic I thought and the visuals were stunning and very realistic. I was really pulled in with the story. I'd definitely recommend seeing it.
Bob John it was about finding the baby that was born from a replicant and kay was supposed to kill it but then he thought it was him but it wasn't and he then discovered it was something to do with deckard and after he found him they discovered the baby was his and then he reunited deckard with his daughter who was the baby born from the replicant.
My favorite element of the Judda was Kraken and his transformation just prior to Necropolis......Tale of the Dead Man,The Dead Man and all associated tales, such as The Shooting Match,Bloodline, and the Odell/Silver/Kit Agee connections...top notch storytelling,Wagner Ezquerra,Brendan McCarthy,Will Simpson and John Ridgeway at the very top of their game ...the only thing I didn't like about the Judda was that in the OZ storyline, the Judda clones as arted by Brendan McCarthy appeared to be eight foot tall, and I cannot find Kraken in the Oz tale..It's almost as if he is retconned in.... later on,in the Shooting Match Kraken is the same height as Dredd....I know,it was just artistic license, and I am a fan of MC2'S Pscychedelia, but some consistency or clarification on this point would have been appreciated. still that intro to Necropolis was better than the main event....
You'll find Judda Judges far superior to ABC war- ....I was going to make a Attack of the Clones mention but for the life of me can't think of a way to properly do it. So instead....that green helmet short of looks like Marvels Galactus.
Late to the party, but I always felt a bit sorry for the Judda. I never saw them as bad guys. I mean, their entire outlook was instilled in them by Judd, who stole them while they were still 'genetic material' and then used them as weapons. Dredd himself noted this fact - when someone else called the Judda 'creeps', Dredd pointed out their lineage and said "the one thing they're not is creeps". If they were anything, the Judda were victims. They never had any real facts that weren't fed to them by Judd, so they were raised hating Mega-City One but none of them would have really known why. All they had was Judd's opinion and, based on that, they became a cult. Because they never had any say in their destiny, seeing them gunned down, nuked and, in Kraken's case, turned into a Dark Judge, seemed like a wasted opportunity.

Thanks foe reminding me to re-read OZ and Necroplis.
Yes, it is referenced a lot during Necropolis.
thanks again, mr.h. your knowledge of all things dredd is truly encyclopaedic ...et carter
Its not you know, he completely fails to mention the surviving Judda or the ENTIRE ARMY of them that still lurk around.

Remember reading this during the sky surfer progs, still have the comics from 35+ years ago, awesome side story.

I think a tv series is better anyway, way more room for all the wacky MC1 stuff.

Poor Judge Kraken, I still feel sorry for him
Those helmets... make me want to live in an isolation cube lol XD. Happy season of Halloween, anyone reading my comment!
I find a Jitter interesting similar to the judges of mega-city one
Thing is in their original story the Judda seem much bigger than the Dredd (alos like an adult next to a child) but Kraken was the same height as him

I love this universe
ALWAYS MORE DREDD STUFF PLX :D
Brendan McCarthy, superb art droid
Judge Kraken - Now that would be an intresting video for a tragic figure like him.
Need, neeeed a video on the nuclear wars.
I hope he's in or referenced on the new show some way
This plot sounds a lot like the plot of the Sallone Judge Dredd film.
Explain me human!

Given how much unemployment rains in this city. I don't know how not everyone is a criminal just to make money.

SJS - Special Judicial Squad.
