    We are a family of 5 travelling Australia indefinitely in our new Lotus Caravan and our 2021 F350 from Harrison F-Trucks. We will take you to many destinations and let you know what works for us and what doesn’t, so you don’t make the same mistakes.
    We are from Perth Western Australia and want to see as many destinations as we can together as a family, we never take the easy road and if we see a track, we always wonder where it will lead us, so we generally take it to see where it leads.
    Thanks for watching and reading if you have made it this far down, hope you enjoyed.

    This one is a ripper, we hit up 14 Mile beach camp and get the boat up, we find some blow holes that entertain the kids and even get the car up and down the sand dunes. we manage a feed of fish and show you what the camp looks like and what our choice of camps would be if we would be lucky enough to go back again. this is the first ep of a mini series of the Ningaloo coast camping we are embarking on over the next 4-5 weeks.

    We have been in the market for a new caravan, but, the ability to make any personalised modifications were a joke. It was easier to buy second hand and we could get nearer to the ideal caravan that suited us. I guess because you work for lotus you can have what ever you like?

      Hi Dianne, unfortunately we too are restricted to what we can do it’s not the manufacturer’s fault 100% here they have had restrictions put on them too now. We can add in new innovations that are going to be released and small changes but engineering comes into play with them too. We have to book in a build time and go through the design fade too just like everyone else.

    Great content. Swag recommendation i have a "crashpad hybrid model" aussie made, 3 hoops so it doesn't lose its shape in storms. Its a new model so not many reviews but i love it. Huge bag, can sit up inside. Slept in it quite a few times with 2 people, seemed to have enough room for 2 without contact. Great for high winds and rain. Cheers 4x4smile

    Great vid guys. I was the silly person that mentioned the helicopter. 😋 Yes it was as a joke, LOL. After posting that question in FB, up popped a video in my YT feed about how two companies in the 70s (Winnebago was one) that actually produced helicopter campers, where they took old military choppers and decked them out inside like a caravan. 😯 So even though my question was just for a bit of fun, turned out somebody actually did build them. Just some useless information for you. LOL 🤪

    • @lappingtheisland
      @lappingtheisland  2 года назад +1

      hahahahaha, hey mate, yes figured it was a joke. how funny is that I will have to google it now so I can have a look, or my phone will be listening and it will pop up on my feed somewhere too. 😂😂😂😂

    I get the eating potato’s thing. Being a solo parent means one income. Saving for everything because I don’t want large loans means we don’t do anything fun atm. Every cent is being saved. One day we may afford a beautiful van like yours. Thanks for sharing your story

    • @lappingtheisland

    • @lappingtheisland

      It was me Dereck that had to be pushed I wanted to do it so badly but didn’t want to give up a good job, nor not have an income to support the family. Looking back it was a silly reason not to do it earlier.

    You said you bought your F truck in Melbourne but you guys are from Western Australia so Is truck registered in Western Australia and if it is what home address to put down if sold your home if you’re travelling. So if you want to be pulled over by the police and show your drivers license what address do you have written down for you and the car thx

    • @lappingtheisland
      @lappingtheisland  2 года назад +1

      Yes brought car from Melbourne it was all engineered with lift and tyres in Melbourne so was registered in Melbourne then I registered it again when I got the car to WA and it is to my parents house where all our mail goes too.

    How much savings could you possibly have to fund all of the equipment you have and drop a lazy 6k a month on living costs. Your truck , caravan, boat etc must be pushing 250k. And now talk of new trucks and caravans without using sale if home money ? How have you managed to do all this? Most people who work hard and reno a house here and there would still struggle to do this. You must be well funded by the caravan industry.

    • @lappingtheisland
      @lappingtheisland  2 года назад +3

      Sorry should of explained that better yes we sold the house and with some of the money from the sale of both houses we brought a caravan and decked out the 200, then we started working with lotus and we sold the first van and the 200 both again in the high market. Brought another house during covid and flipped that after a year banking a good profit again that funded the truck. Yes we don’t have as much money as we started but we are living life now worry about the future then.
