Originally lisa wasn’t credited for love to hate me but then a few months ago she was finally credited. The same thing happened for Jennie and jisoo when they helped with lyrics in “lovesick girls”and “stay”
This is a song about obsessive love, bordering on psychotic. The intro had a scary feel to it, like the start of a horror movie. You would notice that it has a somehow Middle Eastern beat layered underneath---this lends the song an air of mystery/mysticism. The lyrics say they would get their man and they would keep him and nobody can get him, that they are going "loco". And Jisoo's "Eeee-eeee" sounds like the laugh of witches brewing potions---potions to get their man and keep them forever. At first, I was kinda confused by this song. But after several listens, and when I connected the lyrics and the music style, this became one of my favorites (my others are "Stay", "Whistle", and "You Never Know"). This is one of the most unique songs I encountered, not only in kpop but all in all. This showcased all their best. Also, Jisoo loves to rap. She can even rap Jennie's double-time bars in Ddu-Du-Ddu-Du :).
Lisa & Jennie DO participate in the writing process of their rap parts. They also wrote the rap that they did for “Sure thing” cover, when they were rookies. It’s just they are barely getting credit. Jennie & Jisoo wrote “love sick girls”. They are all extremely talented women.
