I've been micro-dosing on the trilogy of teachings so eloquently delivered by Rupert, Eckhart, and Mooji, and I can vow that it has transformed every aspect of my life in a profound, deep, and meaningful way. I believe it has done the same for millions of others too. We love you, Rupert!
Awareness is not so much the observer of experience but the substance of it. Awareness does not know from a distance, it’s the very being of whatever seems to be arising.
Alan Watts : “The observing self behind all our thoughts and feelings is itself a thought. That is to say when the police enters a house in which there are thieves, the thieves go up from the ground floor to the first floor. When the police arrive on the first floor, the thieves have gone up to the second-and so to the third and finally out to the roof. So, when the ego is about to be unmasked, it immediately identifies with a higher self. It goes up a level. Because the religious game is simply a refined and highbrow version of the ordinary game: ‘How can I outwit me? How can I one-up me?’ So, if I find, for example, that in the quest for the ordinary pleasures of the world: food, sex, power, possessions-all this becomes a drag and I think ‘No, it isn’t there.’ So I go in for the arts, literature, poetry, music, and I absorb myself in those pleasures-and after a while they aren't the answer. So I go to psychoanalysis and then I find out that’s not the answer. Then I go to religion. But I’m still seeking what I was seeking when I wanted candy bars! I wanna get that goody!”
You are the one being looked at, the one looking, and the act of looking itself. The perception of separateness arises from the ignorance of their unity.
The "observer" is Shiva, the life with which the observer is inseperably joined is Shakti. You are **living consciousness** , Shiva & Shakti in union. If you try to limit yourself to some cold impartial "observer" role you miss the point of being alive. ❤🙏
This is beautifully expressed. It aligns more with Sankhya philosophy than Vedanta, with Purusha and Prakriti paralleling Shiva and Shakti, although Vedanta itself is rooted in Sankhya.
I feel that what JK was talking about was not the observer that Rupert mentions, but about the 'perceived observer' that doesn't exist. It's just confusing terminology because Rupert refers to that perceived observer as the separate self. Hence, JK said the observer and the observed are the same since if you are viewing through the separate self, the object is also not really perceived but what you are perceiving is a distorted version of it that fits into this separate selfs idea of viewing things rather than pure consciousness. This is what I grasped.
@@keepplayingnicevery eloquently put. Basically everything said the opposite has usually been said by another so words cannot describe reality in conclusion.😊
The idea of being "only an observer" arises from the separation we often feel between ourselves and the world. But in pure awareness, this separation dissolves. You are not merely an observer; you are the awareness in which both observing and experiencing arise. The act of observing, the object being observed, and the one who observes are all facets of the same unified presence. From this perspective, there is no distinction-everything is happening within you. Pure awareness is not passive. It is the foundation of all experiences, yet it is untouched by them. You, as awareness, are not limited to watching life unfold; you are the space in which life manifests. The sensations, thoughts, and emotions you experience are not separate from you. They arise and dissolve within your awareness, much like waves on the ocean. You are not just the observer of the waves; you are the ocean itself. This realization transforms how we view our existence. Instead of being a distant spectator of life, you recognize yourself as the essence of all that is happening. The "observer" is a role the mind creates to make sense of experience, but pure awareness transcends roles. When you rest in this understanding, life flows through you without resistance, and the idea of being "only an observer" dissolves into the knowing that you are both the witness and the witnessed, inseparably one.
The alarm of presence would be helpful if you work in a harsh environment, put it on in every hour just to remind you to take a cup of water mindfully and a deep breath, in one or two weeks it will become natural and you can forget the alarm.
Definitely in my experience I have become more aloof and indifferent. I can easily spend my entire day on my phone not caring anymore. But it's probs just a phase
Your body, your ego, your traumas, your thoughts,.. they ARE also you (in addition to the consciousness, soul, mental continuum or whatever u choose to call it). The fact that they are temporary (unlike the permanent soul) or need to be under control (and some of them even healed) to enjoy a peaceful life experience doesn't mean that they don't are a part of you. So, they have a purpose and you need to love that part of yourself as well, and not try to discard or underestimate them.
What do you think of manta meditation. In the best sense, that is, the mantra becomes an envelope around the awareness without qualities. It may be easier for the conscious mind to grip the mantra through the press of daily life, because it has some slight objectification. But then sink into the awareness which gradually overtakes and becomes the inner sound?
There is thought, not the thinker thinking those thoughts. Without creating a Beyond, dissolve the ground you stand on, and fall, for it's your fall that catches the flight, not the illusion of wings we spend vainly our whole life in designing and fashioning. The force that keeps the Earth and moons and stars and galaxies afloat, can (and will) support us too.
I don't feel like the questioner really asked what he wanted to ask and I don't feel like rupert picked it up on this occasion either. And interestingly I can feel what he was trying to ask but I can't articulate it. But if they had both given each other more space to finish I think it would have been heard in the space between the words.
Consciousness \ awareness IS life. Every being has a different level of awareness of this. Life is not dual. This is truth. Anything else is illusion, delusion, deception.
That's a very good question. I've never really been keen on the prospect of paying to be in a webinar with no guarantee of getting an answer to my burning question of the moment. What I've tried recently is to ask Copilot the question, it's able to trawl through a lot of material very quickly and comes up with amazingly coherent answers, which indicates that all the questions I have wanted to ask are covered in the material to which it has access. Watch out Rupert!
I have a question about the distinction between the mind’s conceptual remembrance of the idea that Aham Brahamasmi and the Direct actual Experience of it. What exactly is the relationship and bridge between the two and what if any are the body’s responses to the Self-Recognition? Thank you 🙏
One is path, other is goal...former will lead to latter. Till it's realized, the 'sansaar', 'maaya', ego-self will keep throwing tests to 'Jeeva' (Brahm). No. That would make awareness utterly useless if all it could do is hoplessly observe without making any decisions. There would be no freewill if all consciousness could do is observe the brain and body dance to its DNA. There's more to who you are than just being a hopeless observer.
@reginaheriesa Consciousness makes decisions and acts. I mean how else would you decide anything without consciousness? Decisions are made consciously and you're only able to make them because you are conscious.

Well all that didn't answer the question, " Am I only an Observer?". It all sounded just hunky-dory with no end result. Reality couldn't care less what you observe in reality to be aware of. The point is, while you are observing to be aware, where is that information going to and for what reason and purpose that information is required. Because you are Duality, then your biological being observes and relays that information to your FORMED source faculty within for determination for it's survival and to evolve it's host the biological being. So no, you are not the only observer. Unfortunately so called teachers and gurus do not have a clue how the individual lineage inception initially derived and therefore they prefer to dabble in the Harry Potter wizardness to bamboozle the unsuspecting. For what purpose, I dont know, but it looks like just for recognition that they know something you think you require.
Why do you often interrupt people asking their questions? It seems a bit rude. Also “you become better and more effective” is a somewhat superficial answer when “better” and “effective” is not even defined in relation to this interrupted mans honest question.
The ideal observer is a machine, apparatus, microscope or telescope, but not human. The human's spiritual work consists on work of purification and transformation: the dirty to clean, the hate to love, the bad to good, the false to truth.
Rupert Spirra is dry dull and soulless. Alot of ego in there playing games. Totally forgettable as a teacher. But he is, like anyone else an innocent child of God deep down. 🙏🕊️
That happens to me a lot when I’m at work 😅 if I don’t need my brain much I just start paying attention to my breathing and become the observer of my thoughts and emotions at that moment.

So in this metaphor what happens when the thieves have gone up on the roof? Where will they retreat to as the police steps out on to the roof? 😊
I like how he talks😂I know he’d have had me chuckling in his audience
"What you are looking for is what is looking."
Sit with that for a minute.
Heyyyy pls let me spank you a bit ❤
But the guy's question reflects his experience of "that which is looking" as an empty state. I wish Rupert could have heard the question.
I'm completely captivated with the questions of reality and our true Self. I've become more loving as I weed the garden of my mind.
You are not the one looking and you are not the one looked AT. YOU are the SEEING. Aum🙏
