      Shawn this is a Sherp owned by Cycle Town South and they take it to several parks. I am not sure if they have taken it to Oklahoma but I have personally seen it at others in Texas. It is a nice machine definitely! Always nice to see someone bring another type of machine out to enjoy with everyone and to show the capabilities. I have only seen the Sherp stuck once in real thick, gumbo mud. Most other times it stays on top and pulls right through anything in its' path. Hopefully we will have the trucks back around New Years at River Run. Always fun to take them trail riding too. Thanks for watching!

Albeit still quite an impressive vehicle, but I'm more curious to see it actually going all terrain than basically swimming.

    Amazing machine! Respect for Russia... They have always been brilliant in building such amazing things. Best thing with SHERP has that it has very simple but purely engineered design. I wish it has a dedicated propeller to give it more speed when floating on water... or might be its design allows only that much speed?

    • @hambone450
      @hambone450  4 года назад

      Yep it is an amazing machine. Pretty much unstoppable in any terrain. I agree about the propeller but I am thinking with the amount of snow there and the ice that the machine breaks through occasionally that it may cause a weak point in the frame or actually break the unit off it hitting something hard. Good idea though if there was a way to raise and lower the propeller and drive shaft for it out of the way when not in use. Ideas for their future. They just come out with a new version so they are always looking for ideas and evolving. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    • @pstrap1311
      @pstrap1311 6 лет назад +6

      It's not full skid steering as the two sides can't go in opposite directions at once. Just one engine, clutch, gearbox, etcetera for both sides and you brake each side independently. So it actually can't turn in it's own length with out shifting between reverse and 1st a whole bunch. Skid steer tractors use hydraulic transmission and this thing has a massive chain drive on either side.

      Nik Pro, в этой же статье написано, откуда берутся корни самой идеи Шерпа + Гаргашьян сам из России и именно его идея стала прародителем Шерпа. То что его потом дорабатывали якобы на Украине, это уже не так важно, как то что фундаментальная идея 4х колес с регулируемым давлением, еще в советском журнале "Моделист конструктор" мелькала..
      Так что не надо перетягивать на себя одеяло, а справедливости ради сказать, что разработка феномена по прозвищу Шерп, стала возможна благодаря совместным усилиям, представителей России и Украины. И еще более справедливо заметить, что оба участника проекта Шерп, плевать хотели на все эти полит войны и это похвально.
      p.s. И потому как проект совместный, уместными будут высказывания и "Русский ШЕДЕВР!" и "Украинский ШЕДЕВР!". А кому такой расклад не по вкусу, это уже их проблемы.

    I do not understand the flat tires and them being filled to pressure at the beginning of the video. Is this just to show the automatic air filling of the tires from a on board air compressor? Why were they flat? Do they have a leak or was this on purpose? This machine looks pretty heavy as every one I see on u-tube is on a large trailer. Amazing how the occupants stay so dry and clean in all the muck and water being thrown around.

    • @hambone450
      @hambone450  6 лет назад

      They deflated the tires in this video to make it easier to exit the vehicle and get back in. The machine has an on board air compressor that you can regulate the tire pressure from inside. Just one of the many thoughtful tricks of this machine. Thanks for watching!

      hambone450 nice the 2nd for the answer was really curious! Can you guys go to a off road event and so a bounty hole? It would be cool to see it try to go through that stuff!

      If they entered a bounty hole competition it would be for exhibition only but not many people around here own Sherps yet. The dealerships don't normally put machines through such holes when they want to sale a $100,000+ "new" machine. Even if it makes it through it is not a good image for the dealership.
