I'm seeing quite a few diasporan contributions on RUclips not aptly describing the Yoruba water deities as Mami. It's not right. Yemoja the mother of all deities in Yorubaland has to be acknowledged for what she is known for and that is Mother of all water and mother of fish. And when we. sing in. praise. (Oriki) as you do here so beautifully, you are calling a major. Oriki. when. you call Yeye O! Yeye is Yemoja Yeye is Mother. Yemoja, Erinle, Oba, Osun. and Oya are specific energies of the water but this doesn't mean we dont include them in the pantheon of water deities.
