- 坤等經過高等法院審判，坤被判入獄四年，龍被判入獄九年，麥則判入獄三年。暉從電視新聞中知道了這個消息，也默默無言，雖然坤過去曾作惡多端，但畢竟是中了壞人圈套。暉明白到坤也曾經欲改過，但可惜泥足深陷，不能自拔，對坤今天的如此下場，暉內心感慨萬千。
坤要求見熹一面，將藥廠還交給熹，但熹卻拒絕接受，因為是自己無能力守業才失敗，他不會貿貿然重返藥廠的，但坤盛意拳拳，為了彌補和原諒自己的過失，他是極希望熹能重掌世坤堂，將容家事業發揚光大，熹無奈只好答應下來，還要找暉來合作，但暉有藥房生意打理，無法兼顧，他取笑熹可與雯合作，夫妻拍檔。
熹與雯兩人的感情日深，熹也正式向雯提出婚事，二人擇日訂婚，在一片吉慶聲中，芳想到暉與茜二人的事，便向暉問清楚他的想法。暉謂自己斷不可能與茜結合，彤的死乃因他們兩人所致，見了茜就會令他想起已死的彤，茜失意之餘，只好到外國散心去。另一方面，成與珍寵下女嬰，鵬高興不已。

Not having the privilege of time for binge watching but catching each episode uploaded daily only in delayed fits and starts, it was a mighty relief really to finally complete viewing the entire series of "Brothers", late as it was and lagging sorely behind so many faithful followers. As well, new dramas are being mounted by the Uploader in quick succession it seems. Breathless me. Unlike the productions from the mid- to late 1980s onwards which hold no nostalgic stirrings for me, "Brothers" will always have emotional sway only because there was so much hype back then and relatives and friends were all enamoured, while I was clueless, away for the most part doing military training. Decades hence, much more wiser to the wily ways of human nature and the insidiousness of harsh reality, I should like to proffer some quick impressions and snapshots here of this much-lauded iconic series, for I doubt if I would again feel the same degree of urgency in the future. Strike while the rod is still hot, right.
Not all is perfect with "Brothers" I'm sure viewers will agree. Too many loopholes in the story arc to account for, so very briefly then, please :
i) This "Blood is thicker than water" maxim, spouted repeatedly throughout by different members of the two feuding families, does get to the point of flirting with transgressions of the law. I'm particularly irked with how Sai Kuan's multiple illegal acts get to be overlooked and "forgiven" more than once, to the detriment of ethical, moral and corporate integrity. Of especial disdain in my book is Kuan's wife and daughter's (Sin) ever expansive largesse in turning a blind eye to fraud committed. And spousal infidelity! Has no one learnt great lessons from the legendary Justice Bao in dispensing justice regardless of familial ties and kinship? Sheesh.....
ii) Integral to this innate emotional "weakness" is the universal failing of misreading a person's evil motives and true character. This is a thread that runs through so many movie scripts. Parents! Teach your children well in this regard!
iii) Dai Ma Seng is hailed as a martial fighter of repute yet right from episode one, when confronting the two hoodlums extorting money from a schoolboy in the alley, he and Fai beat a hasty retreat in the face of serious grievous harm. And again in the episode when the group of them were out in the hillside and chanced upon two Mainland Chinese kids being pursued by human traffickers, the way Seng attempted to fight off the latter was laughable to say the least. Only in another episode when both he and Fai had to face off some ruffians while collecting debt money were the fight scenes slightly more credibly choreographed. Seng is no genuine martial exponent for sure.
iv) Fai, on at least three occasions I reckon, needed to be needled and roused from bed by his mother Lei Heong Kum to get to work. In 1980, still learning his craft, Fai's (Chow Yun Fat) acting deficiencies do show up now and then. That childish reluctance to roll over and spring up from bed immediately, accompanied by some infantile whimpering, really makes for cringe watching, I maintain.
v) Kum's role as the much harried housewife bullied by Law Lan's character....it does get on my nerves no little.
vi) I am not intimately familiar with Sai Kuan's career portfolio. But it seems to me that he was mostly typecast as the villain in numerous outings. I may be mistaken here of course. Thanks.

Watched the series way back in 1981 when I was still in primary school. Didn't follow it diligently back then as I had to go to sleep early as the next morning had to get up to go to school!
My favourite part in this episode😜 - when he told her when he gets over the phase, he will get another girl... And exactly my thoughts - I am hoping that The Fate is in the queue

欣賞茜多過彤。起碼當暉同佢表明一切時，佢灑脫的放手，不再糾纏下去。茜靚女又聰明，要搵返個條件好的男友唔難。

如果結挶彤彤和暉結婚才是觀眾最想要的結果，其實編劇可以改成彤彤長睡不起，靠她意誌力可能會醒·可能一世也不會醒.然後最後因為暉被人開槍·身邊個個去醫院彤彤床邊告訴彤彤阿暉生命好危險·好需要妳彤彤醒返給暉鼓勵生命意誌，然後彤彤臉上突然流戾之後身體有反應'第二天早就爭開眼睛叫住暉個名，最後佳大歡喜·阿善也送上祝福他們有情人終成眷屬。這個結挶會令低層打工仔市民感覺閤情理·人生會有希望，無論戀愛工作也得到人生希望，令人感到明天會更好的希望。親情最討好的女主角最後要死真的令當年好多萬韆工廠妹打工仔好心痛，因為整個親情劇情像做緊香港每個小市民的影子-好寫實🌹🎆
認同你所講.當年嗰位編劇仁兄確實喺編劇唔够經驗喺細致上,不符合情理,好多時自相矛盾.先編寫阿暉話佢從來未曾喜歡過彤彤,後編寫成對彤死去後表現出個份既‘感情’去到要生要死.然後,編寫到對阿茜個一份感情一開始由好愛慕變成好無情咁降到谷底,仲將(茜)角色編寫成兩人之間既‘罪魁禍首’.其實真正不恥既人係阿暉,佢先係‘玩弄’感情嗰個.佢俾咗阿彤一個遐想,又攬又錫又口花花.對住阿茜時又話自己對對方係有幾真心,然後到最後編寫成阿暉好似喺度怪罪阿茜係佢同阿彤兩人之間既‘第三者’咁,唔肯再同阿茜喺埋一齊(唔好忘記阿茜曾喺天台上向阿暉分析佢同阿彤兩人之間,阿彤先係真正最愛最會爲阿暉作出犧牲嗰一個)阿茜真唔係大家所諗咁,係破壞阿暉同阿彤感情既‘第三者’.編劇個位仁兄當年喺編劇嗰陣究竟係諗緊啲乜啊?🤔

I thought Fai will stand tall, just like Men in the Net but is disappointing that he still drown himself in sorrow over Tong. Also he did not play much in the downfall of the bad guys only chose to give up hope in catching Sai Kuan. A let down for his character. The ending for him is disappointing whereas Ah Seng and Fei celebrated in the end.

The 75th final episode of Ching Cheng on RUclips was last played on Tuesday evening, 28 June 2022. To many fans who watched the drama, it was beyond expectation that it ended the way quite different from mediocre. Perhaps the scrip writer of the story intended to make the ending different from the cliché like in most common sob movies.
The love between Ah Fai and Ah Sien did not end happily ever after. Instead Ah Sien’s heart was broken when Ah Fai told her perhaps he would let time dilute his tragic memory of Tung Tung before he could be loving another woman. Ah Fai’s decision came clear perhaps only for those fans who have been through the same experience in life. Tung Tung’s suicide was still raw in his horrible dreams that hunted him and whenever he faced Ah Sien.
While there are fewer suicides in real life, there are many stories of broken love like Ah Sien’s. Perhaps her disappointment with Ah Fei brought us back the reality that ended the drama. More so often we see there are wrong decisions of loveless marriage rather than suicide.
