Replacing the Newmarket diamond - one of Auckland's busiest train junctions

Recently, our teams worked day and night to replace the Newmarket diamond, one of Auckland’s busiest train junction that services over 900 trains weekly from the Southern, Western, and Onehunga lines. Over 100 people worked to replace the crucial 70 metre long diamond, which involved pre-building it offsite, preparing the site, craning it in and connecting it to the existing infrastructure.
These are part of works to upgrade aging infrastructure across the Auckland network in order to allow safer, more reliable journeys.
