Awesome Playset, Dave! I always wanted it as a kid. You are correct that it doesn’t look much different but the fixes were extremely important to the functionality. I’m sure the finished product will be amazing. I hope they remake it for the MOTU Origins line along with Snake Mountain. Thank you for another awesome video!🙏
Pretty neat repair work on this one. ;) I've often seen posts like that snap off being included in the injection moulded parts likely to save money, in hindsight stainless steel rods or even LEGO grade plastic ones would have held up better long term. The toy companies really underestimate how much stress those points will get, many examples of this exact break.
Great show this week Mr. Toy Polloi, I really enjoy learning how to fix vintage He-Man toys. Your show is always very entertaining, educational, and relaxing.
my mother has my old rubber serpent puppet still out in the garden as a wee decoration crazy thing is its paint is still there and no rubber rot on it from being outside all these years
Another fantastic video Dave. Never had one of these as a kid. Haven't bought one for these very reasons. Time to rethink that purchase I believe. Thank you sir
Stellar work, Dave! I'm so very much looking forward to the second part as well. I've had my broken Fright Zone sitting here since last April and didn't know how to approach it. Now I know thanks to you! ♥ Stay awesome, sir! (As for the snake fix: Hand puppet crocodile for the win!)
The closest thing I found to a replacement original snake hand puppet was a Jurassic Park hand puppet. Saw parts of the playset and the random puppet in a bundle area of a retro toy store and even the owner thought it was a good fit to replace with. Child hand sized, and fit well and this was hard enough in rubber to stay static. Wish I bought it, but I am still after a complete playset with box.
This set is a nightmare. I finally found a decent serpent puppet with minimal tears but after 3 attempts to get an unbroken tree I gave up and just glued one of the crows back on and the rest is in good condition. These repairs are great especially for collectors looking to get a cheap set with flaws to repair .
I`m ill at the moment and I`m at home with a cold. So now, I have a lot of time to watch your videos one after another. I absolutley admire your talent to repair nearly everything. I`m a massive Masters of the Universe fan and collector. I´d like to ask you if you remember the MotU UK comics by Egmont publishing? I love these UK-comics. Did you read them as a boy?
I don't think it would be strong enough as all the force goes onto those two very tiny points. It would just take a slight push and they would snap again. The extra support should stop that ever happening.
Just out of curiosity (and because I'm not a heman expert) was this playset released after the she ra show first aired. Reason I ask is because that door decoration head type thing don't half look like the bad guy from the she ra series..... Oh that and I can't be arsed to Google lol. never mind.....Googled it lol. He is indeed
Hooray for Sir Dave .The Vintage Motu Horde Fright Zone will return to its former glory.
This would look so beautiful with a new detail paint job. The crows black, roots brown, skulls white. Wow
Can not wait to see how you tackle the missing snake monster
I received a Fright Zone one Christmas with Grizzlor and Leech figures.
Best. Christmas. Ever.
Adore the Fright Zone, tricky to find one in minty condition for sane money; great choice.
Excellent! The rock trap hinge was the only thing on mine that broke, before I passed it on. Great to know it can be fixed easily!
Hey Dave
Thank you for sharing your fixes once again.
Take care
Ty for this video I never knew the trap piece was spring loaded

I wish I had a nice big sink like that. Great video Dave!
thank you!! i have been wanting this playset for so many years. finally got one a few weeks ago
Great project can't wait for part 2
Great fixes TP. Looking forward to the next installment.
Another great restoration of a nice vintage toyline playset. You have done justice to the Horde Fright Zone Dave. Just awesome work! 👍🙏🏼
Awesome fixes Dave as always. Great stuff!
Such a great video, simplistic fixes can’t wait for part 2
Always fascinating, educational and more importantly FUN.
You are a true toy repair/restore legend, Dave. :)

Great work, I'm looking forward to part 2! I'd love to see a bonus finale where you touch up the paint on the figures as well! 😀
I've always liked your sink. I found myself one that has the bigger tub on 1 side. So much that won't fit on a regular double sink
That's cool. My sink is often not big enough for the projects I work on.
Excellent fixes👍
Been looking forward to this one! Gives me a lot of ideas already! I cannot wait for the tree and snake fixes!!!
Great video as always, mate.
Another fantastic video Dave. Never had one of these as a kid. Haven't bought one for these very reasons. Time to rethink that purchase I believe. Thank you sir
Brilliant! Been looking forward to this one!

It’s my BOI toy polloi.

Coming very soon.
Love your work. I can't wait for the next one
Awesome technique and skill , kinda like toy surgery -these plastics do seem pretty brittle like You’ve mentioned.

Thanks. I hope you are feeling better soon. I don't remember the comics. I'm more about the toys. Cheers
I love your videos so cool and part 2 is cool to
I would have thought Fright Zone would have been more technological than this
I had the fright zone, but none of the Horde. I had almost all the heroes/skeletors evil warriors, but no horde or snake men.
0:46 "and also, the elastic bands themselves have long since dry-rotted to absolute uselessness."
Could the polystyrene and plastic weld fix the trap in place of the lego/paper clips or do you feel it would not hold up?
I don't think it would be strong enough as all the force goes onto those two very tiny points. It would just take a slight push and they would snap again. The extra support should stop that ever happening.
@@toypolloi thanks Dave

something tells me broken-off tree branches, missing/deteriorated dragon, and missing/broken side clips will be addressed 👌😎
They will all be fixed in the second part ☺️
I can’t find it now but some guy made a hard-ish non-puppet replica of the dragon for display
Actually I don't think that cell is going to Hold He-man at all.
