    The plank: it feels like it strengthens the whole body, for the upper back to the core, even the legs and arms in some way. It's really complete and has lots of variables to focus on one key set of muscles if you want. Also great to improve resistance. It's useful whether you're a newbie or at an advanced level. Bonus: people love it when you're strong enough to let them sit on you :)

    • @orias12
      @orias12 5 лет назад +2

      Thomas Busson a reverse plank is better. The plank puts a lot of weight on your lower back and you are mostly using your chest to hold yourself up opposed to your core. The reverse plank is all core and no stress on your lower back.

    This was super helpful! I've been aware of the number 3 issue in my handstand practice and working to correct it for ages but have still been struggling. I didn't understand why it was taking so long to improve and why it was so hard to get the right alignment upside, when I do loads of hollowbody drills and can get the right core/butt engagements and alignment in headstand and in other positions. Realized from this video it's because I'm also not pushing out fully from the shoulders and straightening my arms completely! Tested out that adjustment and it immediately made a difference! Game changer. Thank you!

So my friend that can, would hold me when i did it or hook around my back while im in a spider like position and although i still cant, i had to do it out of pressure in a warm up and bam i done 4 steps in a handstand. Hi - I'll be 64 in a couple of weeks. I started going to the gym after my second round of PT for sciatica and kinda got sucked in to more than I initially bargained for. A couple of months ago I decided I wanted to do a handstand. I can actually hold one for about 30 seconds, but I can't get up without a little help at the end. Part of the problem I think is that I have arthritis in at least one of my hips, so I don't kick as high as I'd like, but I suspect there is something else I'm not doing well enough to get into the handstand. Otherwise, your advice is spot on, and again once someone helps me get vertical I can hold it.

      Hi Tapp Brothers! My favorite BW exercise is the push up. (I'm Italian, we always go for the classic). Jokes apart it's my favorite because it's one of the most versatile BW exercises: you can change the grip, the stand, the height, you can train in power, in isometric, unilaterally, in movement. So many variations, some of them I picked up from your great videos.

    I was a lousy gymnast in high school, but had the best handstand that my peers marveled over. The best exercise I taught myself was doing handstands with my stomach against the wall. It forces you to keep a straight body, and you can easily find your balance with a small tap of your feet just an inch or 2 from the wall. Extend the shoulders, and keep your head down.

    So I can already do an handstand but I wanted it to be perfect so I tried theses techniques and I popped 3 blood vessels in my hand tell me what I did wrong then.

    • @Samantha-lr9qe
      @Samantha-lr9qe 6 лет назад +6

      Jennifer Hale um you can't pop blood vessels by tightening your butt and core. Also impossible by being vertical. Unless if it was your hand balance, then it was definitely your fault. You must've screwed up something.

    Lol, I've got bone bruising in my wrist and I can even do a push up. Should I even try?
    I've been waiting to recover for a while now, but no parkour makes me sad, anything I could do that doesn't require using my hands?

    • @TappBrothers
      @TappBrothers  6 лет назад +14

      We feel your pain! Definitely have had our share of wrist and upper body injuries. Yes, focus on mastering lower body movements/strength/flexibility. look at mastering your one leg squat, increase your speed or agility, practice improving your splits. This way when your healed up, you will be even better at various skills for parkour. Check out our playlist or other videos on here. We have a bunch of tutorials and training for the lower body & core. Get it done my friend and heal up well!

      i don't know but a wrist wrap may help a little bit?

    • @joqiii3
      @joqiii3 6 лет назад

      Take your time. Are you sure it a bone bruising? It could be a ligament. Ice it daily and rest it. If after a few weeks to a month it It is not better get a consultation on a cortisone shot to the wrist. I had something very similar to what you were describing and thought it could be a bone in my hand but it turned out to be a inflamed ligament and the Cortizone shot took care of it. Please consider this. While you are resting you can do what I did and work on your core and maybe you can do some pulling exercises. I bought some rings recently and I feel they will take my strength to the next level. I recently went to Japan and had a visit with a fortuneteller told me to slow up sometime in the next 18 months. Since I am 71 years old I’m going to take his advice, and back off a little bit but I really want to learn a handstand in the next few months. I can do a frog stand now and hold it for 20 seconds so I totally agree with this video that you need to have your fingers andThat part of your palm working in active role in a handstand position or frog position.

    • @joqiii3
      @joqiii3 6 лет назад

      lolguy trolguy It May not be a bone bruise, it could be a ligament and Just the pressure of a push-up can be very very painful. It takes a month or two to heal that even with a Cortizone shot.
