  • Short bodycam video from blind passenger boarding one of the new Siemens Stadler 484 class S-Bahn trains on the S41 ring line at Frankfurter Allee in Berlin.
For safety there is 6 line cuordroy tactile at the platform edge which doubles up as directional tactile.
As the train arrives, there is an audio announcement with 'Auf gleis eins, S41 uber Ostkreuz' which translates as 'From platform 1, S41 via Ostkreuz etc'.
This is very beneficial as S8 and S85 lines also serve the station.
This train features level boarding from the platform and a retractable ramp to ensure there is no gap between the platform and floor of the train. There is an acoustic tone for approx 5 seconds as the ramp deploys and the doors open after which it is safe to board.
