You and your family are blessed to be able to be self sufficient. Me and my family want a piece of land for a farm so we can actually learn how to be self sustaining. Thank you for your content. May Yahweh bless you ❤️

Yes we definitely are blessed! Hopefully you can get some land soon and start learning and experiencing that lifestyle :)

What are the sheep for? Will you be butchering the lambs? I really want to try it someday! Why did you change breeds?
Also I know some people like to milk sheep and use the milk to make yogurt, it’s high cream so supposedly it’s great in coffee and to use for yogurt! Not sure how hard it would be to train a sheep to stand and be milked but that might be fun 😆
Also, we ended up getting Muscovy ducks after seeing your videos about them back when you got them, and we love them! They’re so fun to have around! Have you butchered any yet? Whenever you do can you share your favorite ways to cook them?

The sheep are only for meat, it would be cool to try milk sheep some day though! But we will probably go with a dairy cow eventually. We changed breeds because they are not so wild like barbados. And they get quite a bit bigger and have much more variety of colors which I love! Having them more tame will make it much easier to rotate them through our pastures. Oh yeah, and we have 3 ram lambs that we will be butchering later this fall.
Oh that's awesome, glad you're enjoying your ducks! How many did you get? Do you have a pond for them or anything? They are pretty fun to watch! We have only butchered 1 so far, but there are more that need to be soon! Yeah I need to try different ways of cooking them still :)

@@WilsonHomestead awesome! We’re still putting up fencing on our property, but I hope to get sheep once that’s done! I need to do some research into the breeds!
I can’t stop buying ducks so we’re up to 15 now 😂 9 of them are still little. They’re so fun! We have one of those kiddy pools for them, so far it’s plenty! Once the babies are full size I might get a second one, we’ll see. I got a duck from Costco cuz I was so curious to see how they taste and it was really good! I put it in the crockpot with lots of water and added onion and pumpkin slices. We’re on stage two of GAPS intro so it felt like eating candy lol!

Good idea to get the fencing all done first! Such peace of mind knowing the perimeter is secure and you don't have to worry about animals trying to escape!
Haha that's how I felt once we started getting ducks! They are just so cute and so many different colors! Oh yeah I bet that did taste good being on the gaps diet like that!!
