I think you two are really good at maximizing your land. Growing your food and making lumber are really resourceful uses of time and energy!

I found your channel because I was looking for a way to build my own saw mill. I have wanted one for fifty years. I have to say I enjoy your projects, harvesting, milling, building, mechanical, welding etc.. You remind me of my older brother, he did the same things you do. (No saw mill) I also enjoy how the two of you work together. Reminds me of my brother and I working together. Fond memories! Thanks for what you do.

Hi Heather and Cecil, Dennis from Idaho. I am a very very long time viewer of your channel. I have been wathching since you started your pole barn. I am 73 yrs old and I really like you both. I hope you read your comments. I am really worried and concerned about your hearing. I would like to see you both wearing hearing protection. As we get older our hearing haunts us. So its your body. You chose. Its just a suggestion. Thank you for all you both do.

Cecil I watched a channel the other day where this Homesteader purchased an aftermarket laser to attach to his sawmill and at first he wasn't happy with it until he began to understand fully how it worked. Also he got a cheap one and the laser was hard to see, if you get one get a good laser.

Love my little mill :) When you burn firewood as well 👍there's really not much waste when your done taking it all where it needs to go :) You need a good slab rack so when it's full you can block it for sale if you have more than you need ! Take care guy's stay safe"

Because of how much lumber your mill has produced over the years it appears as if processing a log load is a chore for you. I would hazard a guess that it's still a fun and rewarding experience. How could producing free/cheap building material ever get boring? If I owned a sawmill and a woodlot I would run it til I'm six feet under. Still watching the barn construction from central NY.

Dull teeth will over stress the blade in the gullet Cecil.. I know you are aware of that problem. Blade life is very important since they are getting expensive. The cut still looks clean. You have a super mill for being homemade.. Welder, carpenter, fabricator, diesel mechanic and small engine repairs; you must be missing something.. I know where but wont say anything.. Take care and look after that helper.

I do think that if you own some land with good trees on it it's worth it but if you don't have the land and trees and have to buy logs 😭 I would not on one but you can make a little money doing custom sawing but it doesn't pay a lot and most people don't stay at it constantly you have to have a great source of logs anyway I just bought 10 new blades yesterday and it was almost400 dollars us not to mention up keep on the mill it helps if you can weld and mechanics just owning a mill not all their is to it's hard work even if you have a hydraulic one that's not all you have to stack the boards and put them under a cover to dry are do like y'all and put them in your barn on the wall but I would get rid of mine in less I bought a new one. God Bless Y'all and stay safe up there in the north we are still here in the heat of late summer 🌞
