M 70 and will soon be 71 in a month's time. Have always been a comics book fan since d sixties esp from d Marvel & Dc stables. Have always loved and still loving d creativity of d artworks and story telling by writer and publisher Stan Lee and his team of artists such as Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Buscema, Gene Colan and many other greats who have since passed on including Stan himself. But their legacy lives on! These people made their works come alive so full of movements, all rendered in 3D form making d super heroes and super villains literally leap out from d pages.. thanks to their mastery of perspectives and foreshortening.. these Michaeangelos and Da vincis of d comic art form has given their fans from across d world countless hours of joy and escapism from boredom. Fast forward to 2022.. time whizzed past so fast I now find myself witnessing d current crop of equally super talented masters like Jim Lee in action on You Tube, thanks to d advent of technologies like d Internet and smartphones in making this possible.. If only these I were available then, I might have taken up a crash course and learnt frm these great masters myself.. My favourite super heroes have always been Spiderman & Daredevil..
Jim I'm a Fan for life! I met you at Megacon in Orlando when you was here. And I won a Joker sketch you did. It is frame and on my wall in my studio! Thank you for being you!!!!
This guy puts in more work in for the fans than anyone, he has endless videos. He really leads by example. Also, there is no excuse for not learning to draw with all these vids.
There’s an excuse for not being good. Sure you can learn to draw something that resembles a reference to where a human with a brain can understand what you’re conveying. Not that you can make someone question if it’s real or a drawing.
Wow. How have I been on RUclips this long and NOT seen this!! Jim Lee, You are hands-down, my most favorite artist in Comics. I still have the X-men #1 folded cover you did with Cyclops, Wolverine and the gang. It's amazing to see you doing well on here and making live streams. Hopefully, I can catch the next one. I also have Wildcats and a few other comics you've worked on. So awesome to be able to reach out to you. I also met Todd McFarlane at the Art Institute while he was doing a thing on women in the Comic and Video game industry talk. He showed off some spawn animations for the HBO show when it was still kicking back in the day. Another down to earth artist. Hope to see you again. -Daniel
Ow, amazing drawing, kinda different from what you have been doing lately. I love to draw, and let the video rolling up, listen to you talking and watching you drawing, is so good for inspiration.
your art work is what makes me fell in love with comics. I always enjoy your artwork from X men, to your characters you created from Image comics, a talented artist
Every time I finish a rough draft, I alway turn the page over and view it from the opposite side. You can clearly see what needs to be improved or corrected.
Jim Lee knows what everyone here seems not to know...that this drawing is a bad one-at least from the start. The 3/4 view requires the center of the pectoralis muscles shift even further to the right and the right arm is strangely large and bent. The hand isn't resting correctly either on the right thigh. Lots of problems, but, of course, I'll be attacked by the fan boys for having called out the emperor for not wearing any clothes, but oh well. I've seen much better from Lee so I'd guess he's feeling a bit burnt and tired here and it shows. Bad day for him but he'll come back. Professionals always do.
Great who cares he is one of the best artists in comics and I doubt you could do better. Moreover no one here says his work is flawless and perfect anatomy isn’t the point of his art. While he clearly takes pride in his musculature it isn’t the most realistic in comics you must bring things to a slightly unrealistic standard. But the thing that I love about his work is that it looks great like it’s some beautiful art. Look at the elf dude standing under the tree the shading makes you say wow that looks good plus the great character design. And that was 15 years ago so honestly can you stop criticizing this dude it was a chill stream and wasn’t a cover to something like a comic.
gerald decaire also you said a bad drawing I guarantee it’s better than what you could do with a week much less an hour. Objectively that’s a really good drawing even with some anatomical errors. I feel like you’re just being salty for the sake of it.
@@wyattjenkinson450 Actually, my drawings are much more accurate anatomically than what I'm seeing here. Notice I didn't say "better," as that is such a subjective term. Some people really prefer crap because it's their own tastes that is in question more than the work of the artist him or herself. But just look at yourself. You're making my case. You just can't imagine that anyone could be better than this fellow merely because of his monetary success. There are all kinds of artists out there and comic books is only one genre and marketing is king. Marketing can convince people that someone is great even when they are not. So, not only am I more sound in my representational expertise than Lee, so are many other artists that you never heard of. Even history itself should have taught you that lesson if you cared to actually follow the arts rather than pop figures.
It's a great gift to the internet that you give us a glimpse of your artistic talent Mr. Lee. THANK YOU
Guy scribbles while reading a chat log and batman appears. Impressive.

Same!

Unless you don’t want to learn to draw but I agree it helps a lot especially or people like me who have only done art for two years
