Dude much love for this song. Real shit being spoken here. I grew up with religion in my life until I chose to break away for the same reason your third verse encompasses. This song helps forget all the personal struggles I went through with my own father. He had no idea how to connect with his kids other than god and the church. Then fooling around on my mom. Then homewrecker after the other was brought in. I was subjected to speaking to these women and remembering who was my true mom. I know some find love in some churches but I never felt the light or felt that love. Only judgment and if not active it was passively laced into a "let's pray for you." I felt more insulted than helped. This false sense of compassion that if empathy was the core, it was a rotten one. It also helps me since most people talk down to me for being born a male and that I could never begin to wrap my mind around simple things like hormones. I am close to 30 at this point. I know more than I am given credit for. Music like this shows me no harsh bite and I want to say from this tortured soul that this truth in music keeps me from the welfare life that I grew up in and not having even food in the house at times. So many times I just want to end it after years of mental abuse, but this song numbs all that. Much love and please keep being real.
