Green is making a solo piece, he doesn’t want random melodies to come in out of nowhere in his music. Besides, red was literally just repeating what he did the first time they made music just like the others, and I don’t know if you’re ears are broken, but that didn’t sound right to me. The melodies didn’t mix, they clashed, which is bad in music. Its why he, instead of knocking the chicken away or something, did a music battle. The melody mixed well, so he was intrigued.
