I feel like the natural hair movement was made specifically for women with kinkier hair, so that we( my hair is 4a) can feel more comfortable wearing our own hair because it’s not necessarily accepted. And instead, there are girls with a looser hair texture and they’ve kinda taken it over. Does that make sense? Also, people DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE TERM PROTECTIVE STYLE. If you see me with weave, Crochet, etc., it’s not because I hate myself or my curls. I’m doing it so my hair can grow and be healthy. I don’t hate myself and girl I just like playing in my hair. Little girls like playing with dolls, so is it so foreign that we want to change it up or “play with our hair”. It’s frustrating but every time someone says some of the sort, I ask if it’s their hair or mine and they shut down. Like I didn’t ask you, so you and your hair can mind it’s business. My biggest pet peeve is the same as yours the categories and labels! People always defining what natural is and if you don't follow the rulebook you're not doing it right. The minute I really started listening to my hair and not following a specific regimen that others would deem necessary as a natural, is when my hair FINALLY started to flourish.

i swear this looks just like my hair. anywho to answer your question, the natural hair movement is one of the most powerful movements for us. to be whole, and accepted in that is everything! the issue i have is with this still comes discriminating factors.3A-3C if u have hair like that your mixed blah blah. its still dividing us. when we should be uplifting one another. so many black people ask me hair questions and say, "well u aint got hair like mines.u got that good hair . " its sad. how do u not think of your coils as beautiful ? we are all different and we need to accept the fact that all naps, coils and kinks are made by the hands of god. now stop judging and sit down somewhere.

My pet peeves is that we even need a community and movement as if we need support and consoling for the type of hair we have. Do other races have support groups for their hair?
I know people will bring discrimination into it but I am talking about how we feel we need brownie points and pat on back for wearing our God given hair. It annoys me that people will spend a lot of money going to salons and putting chemicals in their hair but once they stop they complain that their natural hair is too hard to maintain. However, up keeping a relaxer, breakage from chemicals isn't as time consuming?
I will like people to stop acting like rocking their God given hair is an achievement that requires strength. The products now being sold to our natural hair probably isn't any better than the relaxers. They all have chemicals. Sorry to be a downer. I feel bamboozled by products marketed to Black women. From hair to skin.

EUNICE EKOID STUDIOS I agree with you. I went back to relaxers because I thought it would be easier & quicker. In reality it’s more maintenance because you have to compensate for the damage. So here I am back natural lol. I’m glad there are more women with kinder hair tho because now I’m learning to better take care of mine.

I agree with some of your points, I guess, but for a lot of black women it is an achievement. And natural can be a lot of work especially if it's been previously damaged. And everything is a chemical in some way shape or form, so not all chemicals are the devil lol.
I feel u bcuz I used Blue Magic grease back in the day and still use it til this day... All these extra products don't mean nothing if you do not have a healthy eating lifestyle...

For the short parts of your hair you spoke about in the beginning, I recommend taking iron pills! Amongst many others such as B12, and fishoil. DHT Blocker is great also

haha its so funny to see you ask this question, because literally a year later (today) there are videos
everywhere popping up with titles " the natural hair community is trash", "the natural hair community is toxic"and etc.
I have been natural for a few years. Ow and love the versatility. I have been looking for something to give me a bit of length because I do have major shrinking. Now my pet peeve is that I don’t get the same reactions when I wear twist or braids I get compliment after compliment but when I go back natural with my shrinkage these same people act like they don’t even know me. I’m like really? Anyway I cant.
Everything about these clip ins are great expect for the fact that the color throws me off. Imma have to dye it darker brown for it really to look like my hair. Other than that, AWESOME
