Why are people still respecting Liu Kangs 1,2 string eventhough it's not plus anymore and the follow up 1,2,3 is'nt dangerous because you can' t hit confirm only the last hit of 1,2,3?
Because it’s -2 and unreactable, so there’s more of a mind game, whether Liu finishes the string or not, and with the mind game at the end of 123 he has options there as well (fireball, stance etc)
If you’re waiting for Liu to finish 123 and he stops at 12, it’s -2 and you won’t have enough time to counter poke since you weren’t initially looking for 12 but 123. Even tho it’s not plus it’s safe and a lot of people still get hit by his b1 stagger which is -4 on block and his F4 stagger which is -7. You have to make reads on Liu’s staggers, just like how Liu has to make reads on your defense in order to stagger properly

Ninjakilla’s fav character is Liu, and Sonic loves setup characters. They didn’t just start playing them because they were the best. Ninja was playing Liu in MKX and at the beginning of the game’s life when people thought he wasn’t that good, and Sonic has been using Joker since he dropped before anyone knew how good he was
