    Quick little tip, keep the hose clip fully seated while installing you’ll hear a nice click when it’s in

    I did this mod a couple years ago. Recently I noticed coolant seeping from around the new fitting, not from the hose. I pulled the fitting and the o ring was crumbling. So, if you do this project get yourself a high quality o ring for the new fitting. The one it comes with is garbage.

    Mine just blew apart at 167,000 and the upper radiator hose blew off at 155,000. The plastic is shot.

    quick question. In many of these videos, people say disconnecting and reconnecting the hose to the thermostat is the hardest part. would it be easier if I jacked the car up and did it from the bottom?

    • @IzzyE9X
      @IzzyE9X  7 месяцев назад

      It’s very hard to pull the hose off the thermostat, especially if you haven’t replaced the thermostat before. If you come from the top, what I found best is to hold the thermostat with your left hand and then pull the hose with your right hand. you could come from underneath but I’m not sure how much it would help

    Happened to drop a bolt and lose it. Would a M6x25 bolt with washer do or would you recommend I buy the oem? Just trying to find one atm.

    I got 2007 335i and absolutely have no room to put this hose back… I can’t even see a thermostat hose connector from above. Any advice how to install it back? I spent entire day and no luck…

    • @IzzyE9X
      @IzzyE9X  5 месяцев назад +1

      you can jack the car up and come from the bottom, but please use jack stands and be safe.

      @@IzzyE9X yep, I tried that too. I just couldn’t figure out which direction to insert the end of this 90 degree hose at the bottom. All the way left or it’s better to squeeze the hose in between other hoses in that area? I barely can touch thermostat connector by hand. I’m thinking about disconnecting all the hoses from the thermostat and with more available space put everything back in reverse…

    You didn’t drain the coolant beforehand? How much coolant did you lose when removing the hose?

    • @IzzyE9X
      @IzzyE9X  4 месяца назад

      not a ton, probably a few cups worth but nothing crazy. I’d recommend draining and filling with new coolant regardless though, I did a coolant flush a few days before making this video and don’t want to be bothered doing it again
