  • Hey Everyone! It's been a hot minute lol. Today I present to you the LAST part in my Biracial Painting Series. Everything after this is basics for ANY doll of any skin tone: eyebrows, nails, milk bumps, etc. These things will be covered in my Caucasian Painting tutorials.
    Something to ADD: I totally forgot to record and mention this but you also want to blush over the back of the head where the hair will be, it helps darken the area and contour the forehead.
    I hope you guys enjoy and be sure to SUBSCRIBE! More tutorials and other videos coming soon!

    I hope you eventually upload the rest of the videos :( I checked your insta and there aren't any reborn pics for like yrs, are you still doing it? Do u have a separate reborn insta?

      Hi! In my most recent upload I mention that my reborn tutorials will pick up after the holidays, I had the paused the process to finish up custom orders while still being a full time working mom :) And I don't actually use Instagram for my reborns, only Facebook facebook.com/melissasmiracles1/ but I am still doing reborns just trying to finish up some remaining orders.

    Just what I needed - a "How To" series for painting Biracial Skin Tones - THANK YOU!
    As a lifelong professional artist, it's a little difficult for me to translate some of those GHSP colors in the video into real Artist Colors which is what I use but like everything else in my life, I can wing it.
    I see Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, Yellow Ochre etc...

      @MelissaFerrante  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! Yes those are very common color used, I use pre mixed skin tone paints as it’s easier and faster

    Thank you so much for sharing this video. I've wanted to make a dark skinned baby but there's no videos showing paint color details from start to finish. Omgeezus thank you so much 💓!!! Also your work is absolutely 💯 beautiful.

      Since you use heat set what do you suggest to use for varnish ?I used to use the coat they changed its ingredients and I used Genesis matte varnish but that impossible to buy now . Do you have any videos on varnishing maybe I missed it .
      Btw, thankyou for your videos . ITS SUCH A BIG HELP!

    Thank you so much for this video. I know you are a master prototype artist. One small critique; the bottom of the feet creases shouldn't be so dark. It looks more like cuts that are healing instead of creases.

    • @MelissaFerrante
      @MelissaFerrante  3 года назад +3

      Thank you, I’m actually not a master prototype artist but I’ll take it as a compliment lol, just a working mom that has enjoyed this hobby for the past 5 years :) and every baby is made differently, sometimes paint ratios may be mixed differently causing lighter or darker layers. Thanks for the critique though, I’m still always looking for ways to improve my ethnic painting ! :)

    Do you mix the same colors for the Caucasian baby? I have found your videos super informative, but was sad that I didn’t get to see you finish the other baby.

    • @MelissaFerrante
      @MelissaFerrante  2 года назад

      No for Caucasian babies the lips will be more pink/blushed/red looking, I’m glad my videos are helpful :) and I know I had to unfortunately pause that process but the rest of the tutorials will be coming this year :)

    Can you get the creases to look the same using acrylic air dry paint instead of genesis heat set paint or is there always going to be a difference. How do you cure your dolls? In a standard oven or what type of oven

    • @MelissaFerrante
      @MelissaFerrante  2 года назад

      Every doll will always be slightly different, I'm sure if you find similar colors and mix them accordingly you should be fine with the colors. The hardest thing with air dry is that it dries by air so you have to work fast and blend well, heat set paints only set when baked. I use a regular oven, but there are nuwave ovens that some artist use.

    Hi I enjoy your biracial reborn tutorial videos. I have a quick question. On your biracial dolls, do you do shading?

    • @MelissaFerrante
      @MelissaFerrante  2 года назад

      Hi! Yes I do do shading most of the time depending on the doll, I unfortunately didn't film that step with this doll but I do hope to film one in the future.
