It works! I made my portfolio following your advice and I got a call from BDP, I gave my interview today! Thank you very much Joann Lui (I will update this comment if I get the job)
Yes yes, I am a recent interior design graduate and struggling to be accepted at a job very much so! Would love to see the updated portfolio or any more tips for students without much experience!
Thank you so much for sharing your portfolio format! It is challenging to find formats for working professionals, not just students. I'm 10 years into my career and now own a design studio, but I do a lot of projects as an independent contractor, so a simple portfolio that gets all the ideas across quickly is helpful.
Really cool video, also very helpful 💯🙌most online videos always have some super out there almost seems impossible to do examples this was truly helpful to see that we don't have to always be too extravagant
Wow this video was so helpful!!! I’m currently trying to look for new jobs with 2 years of experience and it’s so hard to find any guidance or examples on what to do with your portfolio or when you go to interviews, thank you!
@@JoannLui Me too! Great video and channel! It’s so hard to simplify but it probably really helps to highlight your best work only. I’ll be applying for jobs soon! I have almost 4 hrs experience under my belt at one firm and it’s so scary to put a portfolio out there again, it wasn’t easy getting this job to begin with 😅
Great video! First time heard of something this simple yet effective! I have background in preparing CD Sets for Structural Engineering Part, and a experience with doing WBLCAs. Any tips on how to get into Architectural side with that experience?
Love this video! While I’m not a recent grad anymore (I also am in the fb group and follow you on LinkedIn) I wanted to give this a watch just so I can update my portfolio when it’s time to start looking again. I’ve landed jobs doing exactly this! My portfolio was probably 10 pages max, what helped was me talking to them about what I’ve done.
Hello. This is a great video. Thanks. I just would like your suggestion on how to present a portfolio if you only have Cad experience. No renders or 3d images were using in my office, Maybe 1 or 2. By the way my experience is more than 10 years in small projects but always using Autocad . I appreciate your imput
Was there any photography done for finished projects or even construction photos? Or hand sketches, axonometrics etc. Can you color an overall elevation and site plan to make them more visually appealing? I don't think you have to have renderings, but an overall visual look of the project would be very helpful!
Hello Joann, I'd like to ask you how could I make the shift from being a design architect into a technical architect? Do you recommend any books or courses to enhance my ability to draw construction drawings?
I’d recommend studying construction documents. When I first started, I’d bring some CD sets home and study them. Ask questions if there’s anything you don’t understand!

Any advice for architecture portfolio covers?
Should it be creative with personality or would a minimalistic cover be better?
I am looking for portfolio sample that will help employers understand what I do with my previous jobs, thank you for sharing your portfolio.
I hope it helps you with creating your portfolio!
Do you prefer a simple architecture portfolio or a crazy fancy one?
most definitely fancy but minimalist .. love your content can you start showing us what your job intel or your designs?
