Do you how Bhutna was destined to poison her milk and feed Krishna. In her previous life when lord Vishnu incarnated as vaman avatar he took every thing away from demon king Bali by asking three steps of land. In first two steps he took the whole universe and third step he put on Bali king's head. Bhutna was his daughter first when she show him see felt motherly love for him then when Vishnu took everything from her father she got angered for her father's humiliation and thoughts of poising him appeared. So Vishnu fullifiled her both desires (motherly love and poising both at the same time). This is Vishnu's Leela Vishnu's devine play. That's why one should never as anything from Vishnu he might give it to you. One should only ask for bhakti or his devotion .

Mother Yashoda saw the truth at first . But then clearly she could not handle it . So he hid the truth later with his yogamaya n no one else saw anything. Lord Balaram was the only one who knew who Lord Krishna was so he said that later to make them believe that she did not actually see anything.
