Hi Max, I hope you're doing well. I have a question and I would like you to help me make this decision. I want to build a Blog site, I know that almost all your videos are almost dedicated to building static sites such as businesses, companies, etc. My question is this; If you were to build a blog for affiliates and Google Ads and you had to choose between GeneratePress and Blocksy, which would you choose? If it's GeneratePress, why? And if it's Blocksy, why? I would really appreciate a raw and honest answer, I know that most of your content is based on GeneratePress, but I know that Blocksy is not a bad theme and is built on Gutemberg. Could you please help me with this question.
Greetings from Florida and in advance Frank
PS: I know GeneratePress takes a bit more work to make it look a certain way or do certain functions, personally it's not a limitation for me, so please don't worry about that factor, it's not a limitation for me.

First off, let me say both are great themes and will work for almost any type of site, but especially affiliate sites & blogs.
If you're only considering the free version of each theme, definitely go with Blocksy. It has way more features than GeneratePress's free version.
If you're looking at the pro versions for each then it comes down to what features you need and what is more important to you.
Speed - GeneratePress (blocksy is still good)
Theme builder - Generatepress + Generateblocks
      Customizeability without Gutenberg - Blocksy
      Features - Blocksy.
If you're not a professional designer you will likely get a better looking site with Blocksy, as it has lots of pre-built templates that looks great.
Features that Blocksy offers that GeneratePress doesn't:
      - mega menu
      - multiple page templates
      - breadcrumbs
      - related posts module
      - review module / rating stars
      - Unlimited custom sidebars
Both themes have a header/footer builders and a Gutenberg-based hook system for injecting content in different areas of your site.
GeneratePress's support goes the extra mile and they will even write PHP or basic CSS to help users in their support forum. GeneratePress is also slightly more affordable, especially on the lifetime deal.
There are some things that annoy me about GeneratePress like the fact that padding on the single post template also applies to looped posts in the archive pages. Also too much of the styling requires either CSS or deep customization with Elements + Generateblocks.
      Hope that helps

@@BuildThatWebsite Hi Max, thanks for answering me, I really love your honesty. I had that doubt and I really didn't know which of the 2 Themes was the most suitable for my purposes. I plan to buy the Pro version, so I will have access to all the Theme's features. My doubt was because they both look very professional but I always knew that Blocksy offered more even in its free version, but on the other hand GeneratePress is a more established theme and has been there almost since WordPress came to the internet. I have seen all your tutorials or almost all where you deal with the GeneratePress Theme. I have also taken the time to review almost 50 sites built with GeneratePress and Blocksy and I have noticed 2 very common things in the 2 Themes and that is that all the sites built with GeneratePress almost reached 100 speed in GTMetrix, instead of the Others I reviewed from Blocksy had none above 90 or 92 on GTMetrix and only this website wpglorify.com built with Blocksy has the perfect score. But hey, I guess I'll have to use Blocksy for my project because it actually offers a lot more than GeneratePress in features and is much more user friendly.
Again, thanks for answering me and taking the time to give me such a detailed explanation of the Pro and Cons of both Themes.
      Greetings in advance Frank
PS: When I build my site I'll let you take a look and give me your opinion.

If I was building my first site today, I would probably choose Blocksy also. Don't sweat the speed stuff, the data is probably biased. People who choose generatepress are more likely to care about GTMetflix scores. That doesn't mean Blocksy can't be fast. With proper optimization it can hit 95+ as well. Scores don't matter, as long as your pages load fast and your site is mobile-friendly you're good.

@@BuildThatWebsite Hello Max, thank you very much for the patience you have had with me, definitely the way to go will be with Blocksy. At first I thought to use GeneratePress, but Blocksy is definitely more ready to build Blogs, even in its free version it offers much more than several more famous Themes on the market.

@@URandomGuy I have also started blogging and affiliate marketing but I went for Generate press premium. The thing is my website's home page doesn't give a score of 100 when it comes to speed test, i get about 89-91. But the posts can get a score of 98. So generate press doesn't really score 100 when you are using their premium templates.
